Yes weird isn't it after the kicking he got yesterday.

Did not see the match but I bet his ball did not have the same zip he gets in slams.

He got a fair amount of zip actually.
The difference between the two was Djokovic's serve... not seen Nole serve that well in a while.
Nadal actually did not do too badly on his serve, only lost two breaks over two sets which funnily enough is probably better than he normally does against Djokovic.

Fair amount but not even close to what it was in USopen or just before. At Usopen its was so high, it almost shocked Djokovic.

It's so true Rotla. In that USO no-one coudl handle Nadal's balls...in the first set. Djko had to wait until Nadal got slightly tired to get a chance to return.

The ball bounce at Beijing is lower, so it's natural that the topspin will not be as high as USO.
However apart from that I felt Nadal was actually hitting the ball well, as far as I'm aware he's never been broken less than twice in the first 2 sets against Djokovic in the past few years... so his serve was infact doing better than usual.
As I said the difference was Djokovic's serve... it was untouchable at times.

And yes the first set of the USO final was probably the best set of tennis Nadal has ever played, but cmon is it really fair to judge the rest of his performances compared to that set?
