Masters Does It Again
I know I am in a minority with golf, however I will try and convert the OTF masses!
The Masters yet again provided another dramatic backdrop to the sporting weekend with a last day drama yet again. No-one could forget last years drama when Speith the defending champion buckled at the 12th and a 5 shot lead then all but evaporated.
Garcia and Rose were embattled in an enthralling duel going down the back 9. Rose had birdied 6,7 and 8 and by the 12th had a 2 shot lead after Garcia had bogeyed 10 and 11. Garcia who in his early years was famed for just crumbling at the big showed enormous mental strength to birdie and eagle 14 and 15 respectively and going into 16 was level with Rose at -9. Rose then birdied the 16th to go one shot in the lead going into the 17th. Garcia parred the final 2 holes whereas Rose missed a key putt on 17th to bogey that hole. A playoff ensued and Rose buckled to let Garcia in to win his first major. Have to say I am happy for Garcia. Many expected him to challenge Woods in his pomp and he never really got a look in. Like many from the era of Tiger, will be happy with this one and only Major.

Just glad Garcia won his first slam. I think he somehow deserved one. Did not watch it though as I am abroad with little access to internet.

Re: Masters Does It Again
It was a battle of wills. Garcia held his own whilst Rose fell apart when the pressure to maintain was too much.
