Very good reading. I am impressed how you managed to get in the show courts again. I talked to someone else who did just that. I also did it 15 years ago but now I simply woudl not dare and am not as excited to be there as I was then.

Must have been fun to talk to RR and Davenport.

That was your best effort so far LS!

Nothing beats the personal story told with love Applause

It was informative, with a touch of humour, and was a light and fun read in the always welcome vignette form.

I liked your list at the end.

I always enjoy hearing personal Wimbledon stories as they are all interesting and different.

I remember S. Tignor asked people on his blog to write about their Wimbledon memories a few years ago. I think that was the year he was going to cover it for the first time.
So people came out with some heart-warming stories, and the one that stayed with me was a guy who said: the closest I got to Wimbledon was walked past the gate.

And guess what: at that stage, I didn't have even that experience, and I just felt this pain in my heart....so I wrote about how I "won" my Wimbledon the first time I ever played tennis. A few weeks later, I was kicked out of CC the day Nole played his first final and won. Top that Winking

Maybe we need to have a thread with just those stories.
I have developed my Wimbledon enjoyment into a form of art. I enjoy the weeks and weeks before it starts just thinking about it, esp when I know I've got a ticket.
I love everything there, and I'll never forget how I felt when I got in there first time.
It's kind of silly to say it, but I was literally choking, a bit struggling for air, and was really surprised by my emotional and physical reaction. I still can't explain it to myself.
It felt like walking into a real dream and feeling everything a lot more strongly and intensive than usual.
I don't feel like that any more, but I absolutely LOVE being there.

It was great thanks, shame i couldn't talk longer.
Talked to garner for a while longer, asking about the job, how he got into it, awkward situations (feds swearing delpo us open final 09), and if he supported anyone Winking
Obvs he said no and gave the answer phone response of "everyone, it is such a strong era".
