Strange to see the most interesting match on Lunglen....despite having a French player there. Is it Gasquet wanting that?

Re: Roland Garros 2013: Day 9 03/06/2013
Just started watching, Nole a set dwon.
I know Kholi is a good layer and has beaten him in RG once before, but the fact that Nole's box esp Vajda are cheering Novak so animatedly and obviously trying to get him going (never saw it before) must mean Nole has taken his coach's death very deeply emotionally and needs to shake it off if he can asap.
Come on, Nole, it's tough but you can do it!

SO painful to support Djoko over Kholy. But Let's face it we need Nole to stop Rafa!!!!

I don't think it's the wind so much, it doesn't look that bad at all. Probably what's going on inside him. Grafting the win just to get the job done.

Well, Kholi ain't the picture of guts, is he playing/receiving from 2m behind the baseline?
An occasional few attacking points here and there aren't enough.

Re: Roland Garros 2013: Day 9 03/06/2013
One of the really nice things I enjoyed there were the drop-shots: breath-stopping feeling players give right in the middle of a point - you get lulled by the intensity of ground-strokes, heavy breathing, grunts, the rhythmic melody of a point and then suddenly- this feathery light moment of magic comes out of nowhere!
"sounds"and feels a lot more dramatic live on court.

What do you think about Nadal-Nish?
I don't know their H2H, but Nishi is a kind of combination of Ferrer and Fognini, could be interesting.

I doubt Nishi will be able to do anything. Too short...for a sunny high bouncy court.

Gasquet saving many BPs....bravely.
Gasquet's top spin BH proves to be more consistent than Stan. Strange. I was not sure which way that one was going.

Gasquet definitely looking sharper, fresher and hungrier at the moment.
....although Stan really capitalising on Gasquet staying miles behind the BL on Stan's serve and dropshots him all the time...

Gasquet looks like the better player. Certainly the one anticipating better.
Problem is will he hold his game till the end?
But I can see this Gasquet troubling Nadal.

Sounds good. Definitely looks fit and enjoying the home crowd. I just wish he didn't stand so far behind the BL.
Stan asks for MTO. Very timely

I really don't see how a massage is going to change anything to a pulled muscle which I suspect his pre RG injury was about, this looks tactical to me.
Ah well, we've seen it all before!

Yes Gasquet's backhand is a lot more versatile and natural, Stan's making the most out of his, as well.
Now that I can see how much pace Stan generates on his BH, I would really like to see Fed play with Stan's racquet as you once suggested. He would be a complete beast!

Did we just see that Stan has 8 BH winners v 4 for Gasquet?
Strange. But I guess we will have to reassess who has the better BH when both meet again fit.

That's because Stan attacks with his BH and Gasquet predominately rallies with it. Stan has miles more UEs as a result.

Re: Roland Garros 2013: Day 9 03/06/2013
It's such a shame Stan is hampered with his leg, and not fully it for this RG, he has been playing some excellent tennis recently.
I don't know what needs to happen for Gasquet to attack. He is so good when he does it once in a blue moon like last time he played against Murray.
And he had some foot problems then, so in his mind may have not had any other choice.
To me, Gasquet is as frustrating to watch the same way Nole is to you

It's funny how Norman and Luthi? (Swiss coach) look like each other.
It's also funny to see how relax is Nadal when he knows his opponent has no BH to hurt. I am surprised by how soft is Nishi BH ....for a DHBH.

That is a ridiculous from teh line judge. Clearly the guy was under instructions to mess up at key points. He was briefed by higher authority like the one who foot-faulted Karlo at Wimby!

Country is small but it has historically some very successful players and since long time. It has infrastructure to help the upcoming players go up. I'm really surprised that highest ranked swiss player after Stan isn't even in top-200.
