What?!
The level is poor. It's quite boring actually. If this is the new rivalry of tennis, organizers will chance the conditions.

The best tennis for me this AO till now has been the 1st set what Wawrinka played in the 4h rnd against Djo. It was Godly.

Oh no, that was hugely affected by new shoes with a film of Djoko. That was a huge mistake from him and his team.
He hardly could get from this mistake.

That was some of the best tennis ever. What we see now is completely a different level.

Not only this is a keep-the-ball-in-play fest, the point usually ends with an error too.

To understand well, the best tennis does not have to mean that it is the most enjoyable for watchers

Well it depends on what we mean by level. This final is most likely the most physical tennis played in this AO...but in terms of shot making I agree, it's pretty poor.

almost every rally ends in a UE. Last year atleast it was about forcing the errors. This year its all about not to make errors themselves.
ha ha I actually liked the yesterday's women's finals quite a lot compared to today's. Any match Li Na plays I always watch it. She is a fantastic player.

Weird how Djoko looks more tired after longer rallies.....that's something I had not envisaged.

Let's compare the motion of Murray FH with Tomic FH:
Tomic cracks a whip, Murray hits with an sledgehammer

So those Djoko fans....can they explain how Djoko, the mentally strong player squandered 5 BPs...and lost the TB so tamely?

I know. But I still would prefer Fed losing in a final rather than a semis. At least I would get to watch some good tennis for one more day.

First blood to Andy.
In spite of Nole's breakpoints, Andy did look to me to be the better player throughout, so would say deserved lead.
On the other hand, Djoko played quite poorly yet he had his chances, which should give him some encouragement.
Overall, quite poor first set, perhaps a bit of nerves? Hopefully they pick it up a bit now.

I don;t think that's quite right ...up to 6all....sure now Djoko looks really tired.summerblues wrote:First blood to Andy.

Murray's fitness is quite extraodinary...considering he is big....it really is weird.

Quite interisting, what we could expect re nerves, it went just in the opposite way. Murray focused on it, won TB convincingly. Nole is very fragile on his FH, as often he hit it a bit late.

Let's if you still think that's true 2 hours from now..
Djoko outlasts Murray if he has the chance, no doubt. Murray's scores more easy points, and that could make the difference

I need to admit that Murray has improved his FH significantly and also win over Fed gave him a bit extra confidence. He plays really well.

Murray really upset at Djoko's late HE challenge....but that's so hypocryte as he made a much worse one in the first set.

the best thing about this final, is not actually the final, its the jovial, upbeat, catchy tennis point adverts in the breaks

Re: Australian Open 2013: Day 14 27-Jan-2013 - THE FINAL
Just tuned in to see if I'm actually missing out o anything before I go...And what do I see, Nole applauding Murray's BHDTL winner....FROM A LOSING POSITION.....just thought I'd mention this to Tenez and GP.
Murray looks like utter weirdo between the points shouting for towel, foul-mouthing , yelling at poor ball kids to give him the ball fast.....he really is desperate...
And now I really have to go.
Enjoy....
One last thing before I go....
GO NOLEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

Those were exactly my thoughts when I saw it. Nole is generally very good with that, I hink those were some frustrated comments because Stan could not take him out.noleisthebest wrote:Just tuned in to see if I'm actually missing out o anything before I go...And what do I see, Nole applauding Murray's BHDTL winner....FROM A LOSING POSITION.....just thought I'd mention this to Tenez and GP.

Tie break again. I suppose Nole should win this one. Has not dropped a serve yet, would be rough to be two sets down.

The third set is a decisive for this match. If Nole takes it, he should have it.
