Australian Open 2013: Matches of the day : Day 10 23-Jan-2013
Very quickly, the schedule for tomorrow's play.
1. Victoria Azarenka (BLR) [1]
vSvetlana Kuznetsova (RUS)
Defending champion against a foremer GS champion. I'm going with Kuznetsova
2.
Jeremy Chardy (FRA)
vAndy Murray (GBR) [3]
Once a very promosing young player, Chardy is looking good again. Will he be able to continue his run? My take is yes.
3.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA) {31}
vRoger Federer (SUI) {26}
Now need to do 3 days of points calculations.

Djokovic interview after the match today:
Q. Gilles Simon played four hours and could barely move against Andy.
NOVAK
DJOKOVIC: It all depends, of course, from the player and their
respected routines that they do after the matches. We have certain kind
of things that we do. It has been working in the past. It worked well
this time also.
Q. What is that routine?
NOVAK DJOKOVIC: I can't say that. Sorry. Have to keep it private.
ha ha Of course. Anyone still want to believe in this gluteen-free and Donkey cheese story.

The thing is it might well be legal cause you can always find a loophole in a system which certainly encourages doping....but legal or not it's certainly "physically enhancing".

My be.. certainly possible. But few things are for certain.
1. Its definitely not any stupid gluteen-allergy or donkey cheese or any of those crap stories he/his team keeps telling.
2. Its not normal gym workout and training on court. No amount of gmy training or court session can turn an asthmatic breathing problem player into someone who can play hours and hours of grusome tiring game without any sign of cramping what so ever. Its like the muscles have stopped producing lactic acid which is beyond normal behaviour.
3. This change was almost sudden like magic.
4. The magic potion was never going to be with only Nadal. Its was always going be like this. More players getting access to it and breaking "freaks of nature" barrier.

I have no doubt about it. I have personally seen many LA fans living in denial even after USADA's revelation. They started a new raga after LA himself admitted to doping. "It was necessary to level the playing field as everyone was doping".
Bias at its worst. They needed 1000s of proofs, even USADA's case wasn't enough for them to believe LA could be doping. Yet without a single proof of any kind they are ready to say "everyone was doping"

And that is link to the thread about Murray and Djoko early success. It about being surrounded with those in the know....exactly what Djoko says in the interview: Teams are important. And this is why him and Nadal started to congratulate each others teams in post match interviews.

Federer is playing poorly compared to the previous rounds. Sure Tsonga is a tougher opponent but it does not explain the many really UEs.

Maybe he is not liking those fast courts so much now....being a step to slow too often...even on his forehand.

the vest is just a precaution. Fed is moving and hitting the ball well with no hinderance.
You should've watched Serena. She played with a badly injured back a set and 3 games and you could see it in the way she served as well as reduced her movement. She was admirable and awesome the way she fought through pain.
There is nothing wrong with Federer in this match.

I know when Federer's game. I can see the difference when he loses 3 straight sets at Wimbledon 10 v Tsonga and then goes on to crush him in 3 sets at the USO 6 weeks later.
Federer hasn't played any tournament in preparation of the AO and has considerably cut his schedule. He says he has "treatment" between his matches.
I am happy if Tsonga wins cause I'd rather see him lose v Tsonga than v the roadrunners but clearly Tsonga exposes his mouvement today. As I said, he may improve as the adrenaline kicks in like it did at the FO and Wimbledon.

I'l take your word for it, but I think the speed of the court is definitely playing a big role. Nole had the same problem with Stan.

I never said he didn't. Just that Tsonga is taking advantage of the court better than Federer who spends too much time on the base-line.
Or is it just the tactics, to draw the error out of Tsonga.....

I would've loved to have seen Tsonga blow Murray off the court in QF. Murray's draw's a complete joke.
