Re: Murray v Berankis
Murray on Berankis in his post-match interview:
"Yeah, it was a tough match. He takes the ball very early, hits the ball very flat compared to most players on the tour. And when the ball is between, you know, his hips and his shoulder, he hits the ball extremely well. He's got very good timing. Yeah, he made it tough."

Re: Murray v Berankis
It was a good shout Tenbo. Cor I just got through 5 hours of recorded tennis. Saw this match. Lovely FH and movement Berankis has. Gave away so many silly UE's which was frustrating. Another ugly Murray win. Berankis when in control of rallies did make Andy look mediocre at times. I think Berankis gave Murray too much respect and could've even won the match. Reminded me a bit of the Azarenka/Hampton match where Azarenka couldn't live with the Hampton FH and this was similar in the Murray/Berankis match.
I will touch on something you mentioned in the Djoko/Murray thread about the lack of exposure to ATP events earlier in their careers. I look at Berankis and think with ability like that would you not back yourself to enter tournaments on the main ATP tour and make inroads. I would've thought the ATP 250 events would serve well for players like Berankis. Such a shame.

Thx LK. Glad you saw the potential in Berankis too. As I said I knew he could....but doing it woudl be a very different matter, especially since it was his first time on the big court.

I thought he was even better against Murray:

although the clip does not represent the match very well as it leads you to believe Murray played better than he actually did.

Yes, still quite impressive. I guess he needs more experience....and simply a good day. He is the kind of player that's simply unstoppable on a good day.
