Now back to that competitive spirit from this morning....Tenez wrote:Since Rotla since to have given up any hope of winning the game...I will have to replace him until he gathers some hope again.
Tomic, Federer, Robson, Gasquet, Berankis, Seppi.
I haven't seen Berankis play, but he should be able to handle F. Mayer if he managed to beat Strakh in straights.
And just one little thing, T, it's day 4 not 3, and it's 17th of Jan for all these matches

Told you Berankis is the new talent. Very short and bulky but such quick hands.

Yes, he looks a very natural player. Makes Mayer look 1D, slow and mechanical

I did.
Looks like he is going to re-enter the top with a bang!
Highest ranking : 73 2 years ago (at 20)!!! So he must have had an injury and this is why we had not heard from recently as I clearly remember talking about him then.Former junior World No. 1 in 2007

Yes, I just saw he played in R3 at AO in 2011.
Amazingly loose and relaxed, just like he came to play a game in the park, not a R2 slam match.

Fed set-1 in the bag. Good set, but will need to cut down on those UEs + the BP conversion.

Good to see him back after all those stories of him being lost in the woods.
He is playing more agressively as well, can't afford all that scrapping any more after the knee surgery, I suppose.
the thing that amazes me is Nadal with all the years of knee moaning, injuries blah-blah never considered having a surgery.

I expected a 4 setter in the Fed/Davy match but Federer is certainly playing very well as I don't think Davy was playing that badly.

Yes he has more talent than Nadal...but much less guts and focus!

I think he prefers to play than to win. He'd rather have a crazy point and the stadium roaring than a win I think. He is good enough to be able to afford it as is obviously not interested giving up everything and "breathing tennis" at the expense of having a bit of a life, I don't blame him

I like Wilander comment after Fed's amazing SV. "He doesn't have to look that nonchalent, be he can!".
Honestly...he is a biggest chocker I can think of. He was trying to hit aces cause he had no confidence in his ground shots under pressure.
I don't mind that but he is so scared to cross the line that it shows he really cares about winning too.I think he prefers to play than to win.

got this from CAS on v2.
Roger Federer on Murray and Djokovic:
"They are very different players in terms of their defending. Novak stays on the offensive when he defends, whereas Andy has much more let's say feel or he plays with his slice. He finds a way into the point very different than how the way Novak does it. That creates a different type of an attacking plan for me the way I need to play."

Did I tell you that 2 years ago we invited Laura for our club's final ceremony. SO I was standing next to her giving cups to winners. Her parents live very nearby...they may have moved since.
If I had known she was going to be that good, I woudl have talked to her a bit more.
