Forget what I said about Harrison. he has not improved his game and if anything he has lost some of his explosiveness!

Yes it's sad.... but is he forcing it too much? One must have a sense of his own limits. Of course injuries can happen but when you have them coming at his rate, surely you learn to play, train, stretch differently.

can't answer that one bud, he said he felt strong, fit and comfortable and it just happened out of the blue. Wishing him a speedy recovery!

I am saying this cause I know some people in my club who would simply force their body to retrieve ridiculous balls leading them to regular injuries. I know it's a different level but I suspect same spirit behind. Murray is actually one that falls in that category. His hate of losing has caused him to be injured quite a bit in his career.
It could be bad luck too of course.

It's easy to ignore little "niggles" and play through the pain.
I reckon Baker must've had enough of being injured and not being able to play and just went on, esp as this is a slam.
Body is a funny thing, sometimes those little things go away on their own, sometimes they snap.
He has been playing a lot of matches and long ones recently, as well.
I hope her recovers fast. He'll be feeling pretty low now.

I actually agree with what your saying. I remember in my amateur football days it took about 18 months for a mere groin strain to clear up completely because I didn't give my body the time to recover from matches and hence I spent large parts injured. Even at lower levels in sports people push themselves for love of competing or in my case wanting to play regularly and not be out in case of losing one's place in the team. I had to change warm up routines and stetching and then I bloody knakckered my knee which forced me out completely.

Well to be fair to Harrison Djoko is really in teh zone. He hits teh ball perfectly but again helped by the lack of power from Harrison's shots.

This is the worst I've seen Harrison play. He used to have a forehand....

Even Harrison "noticed"
"Whenever your game plan is to try and take control of a guy and you're not getting balls to hit, you know, if I try to lace balls from six, eight feet behind the baseline I just look stupid and crazy," said Harrison
"It's one where you're disappointed because obviously leading up the last day and a half, two days, I'm all excited because I'm wanting to make a statement, wanting to win this match, wanting to step up.I get stuck hitting six slices in a row, and then I'm running side to side and I look like I'm on a string."

More than that. I saw a recording from the match and must say, Nole has matured and play with an absolute easiness. It seems to be that he had a good practice today.
Otherwise impressive statistics for Nole, 37 winners (from 94 total balls), better than our etalon Fed (with Paire only 25 winners from 95 total). The tide turns
Stepanek again You had a great feeling for that. It is a pity that next match will be his last, but that is life

Yeah....yeah...yeah...I do not want to be a party spoiler but we need to see Nole when he plays someone who can put a bit of pace in the ball. As much as Nole played well, Harrison was really just feeding him with easy balls to put away. In short he made Nole look very good.
It's just frustrating to have all the big hitters in the bottom half. Rao, Delpo, Rosol and Tomic (even).

Ten, every enlightened party spoiler is welcomed
I thought that you considered Harrison as a challenge for Nole. It was not the case that Harrison was so weak, but Nole was so good. Next time Harrison plays, he will play utterly different role in it. He just played what Nole did allow to him, that is it. I am convinced that also Nole is looking forward to play with better hitters. That slaughter was just a starter from Nole.
Nole had probably a carpaccio at lunch today.

Yes. I was clearly wrong. I thought Harrison was going to improve faster than Djoko at their age....strangely enough that was not the case.paulcz wrote:I thought that you considered Harrison as a challenge for Nole.
As NITB said Harri was just a ball machine feed Nole...sure next time might be different but still I expected to see some weapons from the youngsters and there was none.I am convinced that also Nole is looking forward to play with better hitters. That slaughter was just a starter from Nole.

He certainly played very well with huge confidence taking the ball early and hitting flat....for once.
