He would still need a doctor and physician to administer the drugs and saline. I can honestly say from experience that being pumped full of saline is not a nice experience given how much of ends up in the bladder!! Australian Open 2013: Matches of the day : Day 1 14-Jan-2013 - Page 2 1371890812

Well, that looked an easy win for Tipsy, I really didn't expect it.
From the last 5-6 games I saw, Hewitt played like a light-weight and served poorly.
How on earth he beat Delpo & co in Kooyong last week, I'll never know

Yes...and I thought Tsip was injured...really strange result...though let's not forget that Hewitt could have been 2 sets up instead of 2 down. That's the only positive for Hewitt....able to threaten the number 8 for 2 sets.

I find this part of the draw (1st day) completely ininteresting. The tournament is really starting tonight!

Either she or he, it is not substantial.

Some players produce enough body´s steroids but some need to take doses of synthetic ones. The both groups look quite similar, these who produce their own can play but the second ones can only gape. Come on Samantha Australian Open 2013: Matches of the day : Day 1 14-Jan-2013 - Page 2 4006036031

I could not see matches played today, but the first day brought one amazing stuff made by not somebody else than Stepanek. I just still can not believe what Stepanek showed again. He could not do anything except relaxing in bed since last Wednesday due to overstretched intercostal muscles and also he struggled with eye´s infection. What is more he was two sets down to Troicki. Even he struggled with cramps in the fifth set, but in the end he did it. DC win brought him a magical potion or was it something else? Something must work with him Australian Open 2013: Matches of the day : Day 1 14-Jan-2013 - Page 2 2474380249

Step is such a talent. His court coverage is very good despite being slower than most but because he goes forward he is constantly rushing his opponent and a step ahead of them.

Isn't he older than Federer? same age actually.

I don't think 35 is that old esp if you haven't abused your body, plus you get the added bonus of maturity and being relaxed about yourself, nothing to prove kind of thing so you do get to enjoy everything a bit more, which exactly wtat all these over 30 year old players are doing now.
Despite being an occasional slimeball, Stepanek comes across as someone with a lot of spirit and spark, and that kind of people tend to enjoy themselves more as they grow older, so in his case his spirit will carry the body when/if it's a bit tired or sore.

Yes, there is much spirit in him definitely. He has had so many different health troubles and diseases, that it is a wonder that his body keep together. His body is pretty devastated and when I compare him with Fed, then Fed could play about till his 36-37, as long as he still have enough motivation and passion to play. He is a prove that also an older "creature" can be competitive and that is good motivation for everybody on tour Australian Open 2013: Matches of the day : Day 1 14-Jan-2013 - Page 2 3157886161

35 is pretty old when you play at that level. It's ridiculously painful. I remember when I was that age, I was surprised to feel such pain the following day running to catch the bus to work...and I was playing at a very poor amateurish level. If I had had to train like hell and give 110% like they do...Australian Open 2013: Matches of the day : Day 1 14-Jan-2013 - Page 2 1356199756

Being fit helps Australian Open 2013: Matches of the day : Day 1 14-Jan-2013 - Page 2 1071211947 I know it's boring and resented by sport playing people (I used to be one of those), but a bit of aerobic fitness and strength always helps.
I found about it the wrong way round, of course, but I can see why players are dedicating a lot of their effort into fitness these days.
They have to in order to survive the grueling season.
I found it's quite useful having to leg it down platform 11 at Paddington and not getting breathless.
Stepanek looks like a well balanced athlete:agile, not heavy and explosive.

Australian Open 2013: Matches of the day : Day 1 14-Jan-2013 - Page 2 2033450363 you are comparing your approach to sport and the intensity you play with theirs. Different world NITB. It's like when you said you did not think they were tired at the WTF final. I honestly do not think you quite perceive what is the physical challenge of today's tennis. It's brutal!...despite all the prep they go through. I am sure Paul can confirm that. Winking
