'Not as talented': Federer's brutal truth bomb
He is a hater too and should get a life, isn't it?
It is not the ideas, but the way we express them

Maybe we should include Nadal in that generation worthless. Unable to beat a 38yo.....who has been playing a lot recently.

You just come up with one sad excuse after another, Naxroy.
@Tenez - Nadal is clearly not part of Gen Worthless... and he isn't part of the generation in question anyway. He's also still winning Slams.
Unlike the others who are young but fold like paper.

Tomic definitely needs adding too. Maybe even worse than Nishikori given he doesn't try and tanks numerous matches. Needs kicking off the tour.

Tomic would probably counter that with financially he is worth more than others

He could be argued that had Federer learnt tennis with those new strings and a larger frame, Nadal and Djoko may not have won many slams. They have really benefited from Federer coming from another era and learning the game in different conds.Daniel2 wrote:

Imagine a 38 yo beating a 33 on dead slow grass...that's ridiculous for a so-called clay GOAT!!!!
Nadal at 38 beating 33 yo Federer? Can you imagine that too? There are in a different league and this is why to me tehy should never be compared.

Re: Generation Worthless
Nishikori has the best deciding set performance in the Open Era, and he is 3-rd overall in 5-th set record (behind Bork and Kriek) so saying that Nishikori has no mental reserves is very wrong:Daniel2 wrote:1. Nishikori
I think this worthless sack of excrement can be the only candidate for the N1 most worthless player. A pure bottler wimp. The only thing this guy excels at more than kicking out a decent prospect early on - is retiring a few rounds later. When the opponent sees they have Nishikori in a QF, SF, or final, they roll around on the floor laughing. He has no stamina, no mental reserves, no fight. I wish he'd just retire.

Re: Generation Worthless
Two full weeks of tennis passed by and not a sound on this forum. So let me just summarize.
The next-gen has been proving it's worthless self.. again.. and again. The top rakers Theim, Zverev and Rublev.. all failing to win despite no Fed/Nadal/Djoko in the field.
They clearly lack talent and mindset of a dominant tennis player. They can't win dominate any field. And this is helping Djoko the most. He simply has no upcoming challenger.

Not completely useless winning non-GS titles.

Winning record in 5 sets isn't an indication of mental reserves, when you do naff all in slams or big moments - and you continually retire from events. That's not a valid excuse.
Also, winning non slam events isn't a resume for those players who should do better and aim to be the best. Top players win slams.

What's with Zverev? There was talk of personal problems in July, but the whole of 2019 has been horrendous when you take into account his form over the two previous years?

I'm looking from a stepping stone point of view. No one stats winning slams straightway. The progression is gradual. Potential young slam winners should easily be winning smaller events. This is where I'm disappointed.
All top-ranked young players, none of them can be consistently dominant at any level. Thiem/Zverev should have won Hamburg easily. But they lost even before finals.

Safe to say Tsitsipas isn't joining Thiem on the losers bench.

Tsitsipas is awesome. I wish nitb was here too and I would congratulate her on this.

Well he has a quiet swagger about him which most of the others don't have. If Kyrgios channelled his focus instead of picking a fight with everyone, he and Tsitsy could have quite the rivalry.
When looking at Med, Zverev and Thiem, they have a long way to go in terms of maturity and concentration when a match gets to the nitty gritty.

I haven’t posted about tennis in years now - curiosity after the DC win today made me have a look and you guys are still arguing the ins and outs of Nadal vs Federer
