Federer looking erratic here, but as he’s playing Paire it gives him the appearance of peak Djokovic steadiness.

Well, Federer wins but that’s the worst I’ve seen him play for a very longest time.

Is he really training?

Anyone see this??
Lahyani coaching Kyrgios!
He was a set and a break down at this point and then won easily in 4!

Re: US Open prediction game! Day 4

Depressing!!!!!

Q. How different is the pace of the court this year and what effect do you think it will have on your fortunes?

ROGER FEDERER: I feel it plays very slow, to be honest. Probably center court is maybe even a bit faster than some of the outside courts. Armstrong, from I what heard, I feel like the P courts they play, have a lot of bounce in them as well. I remember when I was here before Cincy, I came to practice here in New York, and I also combined it with the balls we played at Cincy, but the bounce was incredible. I feel like it's a very bouncy court. Obviously at nighttime it goes slower.

Most of the big matches will be played at night here, especially down the stretch. So I feel like you can really construct the point nicely. If you play attacking tennis, you have to do it smartly. Like in Cincinnati, you can't outright play aggressive tennis and try to suffocate your opponent.

This, to me, seems the slowest US Open we've seen in years. That's my opinion there, which I don't think necessarily is a bad thing. Usually it helps the top guys, the slower it is, to be honest.

Going to the day session on Saturday.  Hopefully Fed vs Kyrgios will not be the evening match.  I would like to see Fed one more time.  The match vs Kyrgios could conceivably be his very last ever at the USO.

Fed is not playing well at all. Too many errors. Winners: UEs 27:39. Poor serving as well.

Against a tougher opponent, he might have had to work hard for the win.

Djokovic isn't playing well either. The finalist in this half is very open.

Unfortunately for you, Fed v Nick is absolutely guaranteed to be the evening match I would have thought. Suspect you will be watching Novak!

I get the cheapest ticket in the resale market - around $200.  Admittedly, I will not see much tennis from all the way up there, but it will be good for the atmosphere.  A decent ticket in resale would be about $800 or so.  I am not sure how much this is marked up over the face value - I would guess maybe 50%?

The ticket - just like a grounds admission ticket - gives you admission to non-reserved seats on Armstrong, Grandstand and all other courts.  That is where I normally spend most of my time.  In fact, I used to only buy grounds admission until I realized cheapest Ashe tickets were often similar price.

My annual note to casual tennis fans:  At the USO during the middle weekend (Sat/Sun/Mon), it is the daytime session that gets marquee match-ups.
