US Open 2018
Draw is out, I'm guessint most of you have your own tennis news sources and can look up the combinations.
https://www.usopen.org/en_US/news/articles/2018-08-23/2018_us_open_mens_draw_federer_djokovic_land_in_same_quarter_nadalanderson_redux.html
Fed Pretty tough:
R1: Nishioka
R2: Paire/Qualifier
R3: Kyrgios/Herbert
R4: Foggy/Chung
R5: Djokovic/Busta
SF: Cilic/Goff/Ninja
F: Nadal/Delpo
Rafa as usual joke of a draw and Djoko this time easy too.

Yeah - another joke draw for Nadal. The guy not only needs to cheat - he needs the best luck I've ever seen. Once again - Del Potro, who hardly poses a problem for him is there. Anderson (lol). He's escaped yet again. And he'll probably still get his arse handed to him at some point.
I wonder if he'll finally be pulled up by the shot clock?
The odds of Federer having Kyrgios, Cilic, Zverev and Djokovic in the same half are - I believe - 1 in 16. All the worst players are there.
Pathetic. And I knew it was coming. As usual.
Federer hasn't had anywhere near the level of luck Nadal has - and he's still caning him in 3 of the 4 slams. Kyrgios R3... Djok QF. Federer hasn't got a prayer this year unless something very special happens.

Yeah, this one can be written off for Federer. Nadal has it very easy, similar to last year.

So how does that add up to SB's Nadal draws stats?

Re: US Open 2018
It’s back to the old days for me with no USO on TV. I wonder what the effect will be on general interest?
Sports has become such a battleground for channels but one casualty has been universality of interest. Look at cricket, they complain about people not having the same level of interest and go on about changing the formats but they did it themselves going away from free to air screening,

Re: US Open 2018
Agree. another reason is probably the fact sport is too professional and sport has generally less flair than in the past. More importantly, flair is no longer winning. That's my real issue.

Its okay.. draws can open up. Retirements, injuries, some upsets.
Fed can turn into the Neo mode too as he did in AO17 ( couldn't have had a tougher draw and they all stacked up but he passed it well). Maybe he can do it once more.
Also, he has failed many times with much easier draws. So we never know. He will try as he should. His slam lead over Nadal is not insurmountable.

Also he mentioned its great to be used/try to different balls, don't know how different are balls this year. I;m guessing courts will be slow as mud.
