Ball Tampering - Australia In Turmoil

Post by legendkillar on Thu Mar 29, 2018 7:18 pm

Unless you've been under a rock, this story has absolutely been the main talking point of the Cricketing world and I have to say this has generated more headlines and attention than the Match Fixing Scandal.

What are people's view on this episode? Have the players involved been treated too harshly?

So many takeaways from this, here are mine.

a) Imo, everyone in the team knew about this. Fast bowlers would utilise this for reverse swing, so for them to claim not to know, I don't buy at all.
b) I think this probably goes on from all teams but this is the first time someone got caught.
c) The cowardly actions of the leadership team to get the most inexperienced to carry this out is pathetic.
d) I think it is good that this precedent has been set. I think a longer ban would have been too much.
e) They are only sorry because they got caught.

That's funny. I don;t understand what is ball tempering but it shows once again that cheating is everywhere.

a) I agree. Clearly this was a sinking ship and those caught with the smoking pistols have been hung out to dry.

b) Agree. Though not in the predetermined manner the Aussies did. More they know how to on the field without sandpaper.

c) Agree.

d) I think had it not been carried out in the planned manner and plus the attempted deception on field might have spared a longer ban.

e) Yup. Instant regret.

Think that plonker CEO of CA needs to go. What a poor way of handling the whole affair.
