Federer's BH - spring 2017 vintage

Post by summerblues on Sat Sep 09, 2017 5:04 pm

A memory of when all was well, when the times were not dark.  Fed vs Rafa Indian Wells.  The fifth game of the first set.  Maybe my favorite game of the year (perhaps with the exception of some in the final set at AO).  Fed hits four insane BHs in this game alone.  Here is the best free video of the game I was able to find.

The fifth game goes from about 3:16 though 4:18 in this video:

The seasons not done, he gets a good rest and I think the last part could be great. No reason why he can't with in London.

Yes, at is a fresh, hungry Federer.

He has not played with the same unique joy since Miami.

At the beginning of the clip his forehand is phenomenal, he is finally showing what he can do with it with the new racquet.

He is  toying with Nadal who is standing on the baseline and bludgeoning the ball like there is no tomorrow...but those balls are all coming back fast, hehe.

Yes some of the BHs were sublime, best ever.
