The thing is he's not taking match points. BBC reported 4 - ive just got back.  is that right?

Looking at the games I just have, Nadal is getting away with murder.  Desperation second serve - and it was an ace.

He has blown so many chances.

The only way is if Nadal throws a mega choke and that ain't gonna happen.

Muller deserved the win there, was the better player.
Nadal was simply not good enough, forehand was poor, and serve went away completely in the 5th.

Well take heart in the fact he served better than I've ever seen him in 3rd and 4th.  I didn't think he was capable of that level on serve.  But he was knackered as hell in 5th.  Shanks started too because of it.

Also people (often here - trying to blame doping) claim Nadal never gets tired.  The commentators bum the idea he never tires.  But he was.  That was obvious at the end of the 5th.  He was toast.

I think he got mentally tired during the fifth. It's not easy to serve second in such a long fifth match. Gilles was more comfortable keeping his service, got more free points.

Twelve years after he stunned Nadal when the Spaniard arrived at Wimbledon after his first Roland Garros triumph, this was an even better performance and an even bigger shock, such was the manner in which No4 seed Nadal had reached the last 16 without dropping a set.
