Well take heart in the fact he served better than I've ever seen him in 3rd and 4th. I didn't think he was capable of that level on serve. But he was knackered as hell in 5th. Shanks started too because of it.

Also people (often here - trying to blame doping) claim Nadal never gets tired. The commentators bum the idea he never tires. But he was. That was obvious at the end of the 5th. He was toast.

I think he got mentally tired during the fifth.It's not easy to serve second in such a long fifth match. Gilles was more comfortable keeping his service, got more free points.
