"I was right" thread
Since so many of us are right all the time, let's dedicate this thread to 'being right'
i start: in the Wimbledon day 5 tread on Nadal's progression:

I predicted Nadal would not reach the final and was being made to look far better on grass than he is by having an easy draw. And he ended up being found out against a decent - but not great player. So Hopefully tenez will admit that grass isn't like clay after all. That there still is quite a sizable difference (not a huge one that there used to be - ok!).

fair enough. You were right on Nadal.
Maybe a bit lame to come up with but didn't the court look faster than last week? Maybe they watered it yesterday?

I don't think it's at all reliable to judge speed by TV. Camera angle, subjective interpretation, and a host of other issues make defining speed and difficulty near impossible. You'd have to cite a player like Fed. Nadal wouldn't be beaten by Muller on clay or any slow surface if Nadal was 45.

Re: "I was right" thread
I was wrong. We should have a thread about it.
daniel! You still were wrong. nadal once again was beaten by an older guy.....you are so bloody unlucky!!!! The guy Nadal loses to is not a young gun, is not one at his peak, you can't even say that Nadal is over his peak as the guy who beat him is is just an old git unable to move but with better timing and reflexes than ever! Give it up!

I agree....I can't make the difference between 8mm and 9mm but the grass looked to get the balls to skid on it. It cost Nadal many points.gallery play wrote:fair enough. You were right on Nadal.

Re: "I was right" thread
Nadal is an older guy... unless you forgot? He's in his 30s now (something that directly makes him worse on grass than he used to be). And you were more than wrong... you were embarrassingly wrong. So stop making it worse and admit you got it totally off. Nadal is out of his peak and prime.... hence why he's not been to QF at wimby in I can't remember how long.

I think we should all give Daniel some credit for his Rafa predictions. He was saying all along that Rafa - not having done anything here in ages - was not going to turn it around this year, and we have been giving him hard time.
Well, he was right, we were wrong - why not admit it. Especially today, I think we all can be in generous mood.

...and to go with the spirit of the thread, I was - of course - right when I said last week:

That is gracious of you! Tenez ego is coming out of every orifice, so I can excuse him. I'm just glad Nadal is out tbh!

Yeah, very good call from Daniel on Rafa going out early. Didn't see Muller winning that one at all. I thought the only challenge to Rafa making the final would come from Cilic - and even that I expected him to win.
