Hoping for Federer to have Murray in his half and to keep Cilic somewhere else.

Frustrating!

So Fed has Raonic followed by Djokovic in the QF and SF? Very good draw for him. Murray has Stan in the QF and Nadal has Cilic.

Yes, on balance could have been better for Federer. Dolgopolov is dangerous but on the other hand I'm pleased to see him avoid Khachanov after Halle.

Will do when I have some time....but the other bad news for Fed is that Djokovic has no real opposition..he probably has the easiest draw. Sure he has Delpo but what has Delpo done recently....and ever on grass?

There's a lot at stake, which always makes things exiting. But rationally thinking: there's no reason why Federer wouldn't be the fav.
Are murray, Djoko, Waw, Cilic, Rao ect ect in a better position than Fed? I guess not. The only real threat is that Nadal brings his RG confidence and fitness and sneaks into the latter rounds.

The real threat is Fed's ability to line up 5 setters every other day. I have no doubt that on the day Fed is better than all those guys....but when it comes to his 5th or 6th match on slower/dryer/scarcer grass...then it's a real challenge.

If Djoko and Nadal lose before the semi...then he has every chance.

Well yes probably better for Fed to beat DJoko in SF, then Nadal in 3 sets on F, good revenge on both, Djoko left him without 2 W titles.

Nadal is performing terribly on grass.  But not in your imaginations, it seems.  He has got a piss easy draw up to QF (again). But that's about it.

I'm expecting (and hoping) that Nadal loses early but even if Federer were to play him in the final, and provided both arrive there fairly fresh, I would still make Roger a clear favourite. Although, having said that, the uneven bounce on grass may neutralise somewhat the neo BH.

Djokovic is the main worry. If he's in the semi final he's probably got his mojo back and that means a tough match. Of course the cumulative effect of rounds, as Tenez has mentioned, could also be a big factor - moreso for Fed than anyone else. He needs to be efficient.

i think that going by recent form murray has a much greater chance of upsetting federer then djokovic in the sense of who id rather see federer play in the semi final,so djokovic is good.the wy he is playing he may not even make it there
i also think that murray has a greater chance of upsetting nadal then djokovic has  so id rather see murray playing nadal in the semi final
they can both tire each other out with all the running that they do before the final too

Exactly. WHoever played on grass knows that itis difficult to gain confidence because of the difficult bounce.

Do you realise that when he reached the finals in 2006 and 2007 and when he won in 2008 and 10 he struggled in the early rounds with 5 setters....But if he gets through those first rounds then he is a real danger!

I agree with Veejay that Murray is the greater threat at the start of the tournament, however, by the semi final stage, with Djokovic dialled in he is undoubtedly a bigger threat to Fed.

As for Nadal, if he can navigate the early rounds then of course he is a huge threat. I'm hoping a big hitter like kach takes him out. Did GP suggest that Donald Young could be a threat to Rafa? Get outta here. DY is worse than useless. He's a Monfils that doesn't get far enough to be Monfils.

All in all a fairly even draw although Screech probably has a clear run to the semis given the uncertainty around Delpo.

has djokvic made it to a semi final at any of the tournaments he has played in so far this year?
i cant think of any but yeah djokovic back to his best will be harder for federer then murray
the question is will he find that form in time?
he is playing with nowhere near as much confidence as federer currently is

Top 4 :

Federer: Hardest draw of the top 4.  Starting with Dolgopolov is awful and I have a feeling Nadal would be out R1 if this were his opponent. Federer also has Tomic/M Zverev and Dimitrov in his section.  It really couldn't have gotten any harder for him. Raonic or Zverev in the QF. Simply awful.

Murray: second hardest of the top 4.  Kyrgios, Brown, Pouille in his section...  players you want to avoid early on.  Tsonga Wawrinka QF.

Djokovic: Not too bad.  Del Potro in his section could be a banana skin - Thiem Berdych QF.

Nadal:  Once again, the easiest of the 4 (this has been the case in all slams this year). No big players in his section. Cilic Nishikori QF.  Probably Nishikori so it can be a walk over. But the good news is, even with all the luck in the world, Nadal is piss poor these days on grass.

Do you realise that when he reached the finals in 2006 and 2007 and when he won in 2008

Do you realize it's 2017?  Evidence suggests you don't.  Doh Will you please stop going on about a decade ago as if it is relevant to now.  Laugh

K
Who's got Kokkinakis in the draw?
Now, here's a proper banana skin for anyone!

My kind friend once more gave me tennis tickets so I went to Boodles yesterday.

I am now so spoilt I nearly turned her down, but felt bad and went skipping the first and last match.

I saw Kyrgios vs Kohlschreiber and Kokkinakos vs A.Zverev.

Here are my impressions:

Both young Aussies are very good. Better than Zverev.

Kyrgios has improved a lot since I saw him live last, he hits the ball very cleanly and early, also lowest net clearance of all 4 which is quite something.

He was dressed and looked like a monkey in some 3/4 lengings under his baggy ocean blue shorts, neon yellow socks, tatoos, haircut...

Was silly, grunting, mumbling as usual, but looked like he enjoyed himself.

Again that was an exho, but at least he showed his stuff and I enjoyed watchinng him.

Poor Kholi was ok, a bit dissappointed, he looks better on tv, at least old school, white outfit, no grunting, very charming in the post match interview. One stunning bhdtl.

A.Zverev looked taller than ever!!!
Quite awkward build for a tennis player.

It was strange to see his whole entourage in the box.
What surprised me a bit was I didn't know he had this showman persona.

The kiddo is so confident, al ost cocky, although the youngest of all player, he was the heart and soul of the party.

But his jokes were dull, just like his American accent I didn't expect.
He chatted to ladies, the guy who was manually changing scores on the board, pulled Kokki's leg (who one of the half-drunk guys in the audience called "Coco")
and so and so forth...

His tennis is very much like Nole's in terms of the game, though he is very bad at the net and doesn't venture there much..not even in an exho!
Actually, there was nothing impressive about him.

What he is very good at though, is hitting hard, good groundstrokes off balance, same as Djokovic. That really surprised me.
All he is one unimaginative, boring basher who thinks he is good looking, charming and funny.

Kokki on the ither hand was naturally entertaining (minus the tattoo and stupid black earring), brilliant fh and allround game, very nice bh, too.
He doesn't hit flat as Kyrgios but is much more consistent in the attacking way.
I hope he can stay healthy from now on.

All in all, I couldn't wait for their long first set to finish, left for home straight after their tb.
Zverev's atrempts at entertaining the crowd were killing me more than his tennis!

You know what...these young guys are soooo boring.

All they seem to take pleasure in is hitting the ball as hard as possible.
Zverev is the worst by far.

Kokki and Kyrgios are actually both good an fun to watch.

I just wish they'd cut out that superstupid grunting and aaaaah-ing.

I haven't looked at the draw yet, but from I saw here,  adal as usual gets away with the easiest one.

Serbian media are speculating Murray may not even play due to hip injury. He cancelled two of his exhos this week.
Who knows...maybe that is his faking, like when he ised to slap his legs and pretend to be tired in the past.

We'll see...

Tbh, I am not even excoted about thos Wimbledon and I don't even care who is going to win, though Fed is the big favourite.

I just want to see some good tennis as there has been so little of it lately.

It may sound crazy, but I am excited most about Ostapenko!

I saw Nole's few matches in Eastbourne, he is getting back to normal, so wouldn't bank on him crashing out early.

Semi vs Federer would be amazing and I don't see him able to beat Federer there this time.

But a lot of tennis to be played in the meantime.
