Men's final

Post by luvsports! on Sun Jun 11, 2017 7:08 am

Guess correct number of sets for both.

Bethanie Mattek-Sands Lucie Safarova [10] vs.Ashleigh Barty Casey Dellacqua (15)

Stan Wawrinka  [50] vs.Rafael Nadal [30)

Stan in Straights.  I'll go with that.

Honestly I think it will be Nadal in 4 - but depends what Stan turns up.

I expect Rafa will win in three relatively straightforward sets.  But I am hoping I am very wrong.

Rafa has skated through on an extremely easy draw. The results don't tell the tale.  Stan is capable of kicking Nadal's ass and there is every chance he will.  When the lousy bottler Thiem can break Nadal - anyone can.

Have you actually seen Nadal play? And if so: didn't you notice the inevitability of things?

Lets see how Rafa will act to the first ever proper opponent on this RG.

Stan wins first set, it will be all done, though losing first set does tend to fire up Stan, just let it not be 2 sets down.

Good first service game by Stan too.
After the USO 2016 he admitted he puked and cried before the final, i hope he realizes he has nothing to lose this time

Rafa first serve sucks so far. Stan needs to come a little fwd to base line and crush the ball.

Crazy levels of testosterone and other funky substances, obviously.
Nadal and his doctors were willing to take the highest risks in order to get the 10th

Nadals balls fly almost as fast as Stan's, but the key is: they spin twice as much.

Meanwhile Stan shows heart and overcomes 3 bp's.

It's not unusual in the beginning, he always a little sloppy when he's not leading.

I reckon Nadal is bluffing.

The longer the match goes the more it's on Stan's racquet.

And Stan appears like he doesn't intend to go amywhere soon.

looks to me like nadal can be beaten today
he looks a little tight and nervous especially on big points
i think that stan can make him feel uncertain  and as long as he doubts himself then theres a shot at beating him

I think so, too.
Very beatable.

Stan is not thinking clearly atm, sending him all thise "beautiful" angled balls to his FH.

Has he forgotten Nadal is a lefty!

Anyway...the match/night is young! Big Grin

Why, many players hit it dtl on the run.

Only Nadal has a bicep the size of most people's thigh, though.

Amazing for a guy who said he doesn't go to the gym.

We just need another well overdue time violation and Nadal will start to get nervous.

Of coirse, the gutless u oire will never do it.
He's done his one for the masses and that's it.

And now has the cheek to gove Stan racquet abuse violation. Laugh

Yeah it was average erm

I am certain had Federer hit from that very position with that ball the forum would've collectively orgasmed.

Graciousness is certainly not strong point of this forum.

He's beaten Nadal three times this year, four times in a row, in fact.

Digest that and then you'll understand that what you are saying makes no sense.
