Yep....and here is a special one for Daniel!:

"The Swiss maestro moves to 17-1 in 2017, his best start to a season since 2006, and has now won seven straight tie-breakers. Federer is through to his seventh semi-final in Miami and first since 2011."

Even if Fed loses tomorrow he's greatly overachieved against expectations in N America.

Yeah, Berdych is a right walk over, lads? I remember being told he was a nice push over for Federer compared with Monfis.  Doh Doh Doh

Federer is likely dead meat against the next opponent.

What's hilarious is that you actually think you're a winner here.  You're a loser.  You;re the one that said Berdych was a push over. Not me.  Ignorant fool. This is another of your problems, retard. You turn every single debate around when you've lost. I hope it feels good to know Nole will never surpass Federer.  I know how much you longed for it and actually believed it could happen.  But reality doesn't work like you dream up.  Daft idiot. Wah

What a desperate and brain-dead response.  I have been out all day. I didn't watch the match.

Anyway, fuck this shitty little forum.  I've got better things to be doing than arguing with dead wood and flat-earthers.  Laugh  People who think 35 year old players are at their peak.  Doh People who think Monfils is a greater challenge than Berdych  Doh and self-confessed know-it-alls who have been banned from other forums for the same crap behaviour.  Doh

Enjoy.  Peace Dove

Did not see Fed match, but it looks like he is not taking Miami easy, i.e., he is doing what I suggested.

I just hope he will also do what I would recommend for the clay season - i.e., mostly skip it.  I would even say skip all of it, incl RG, but that is obviously out of the question.  In any event he should play at most two tournaments on clay - RG plus one warm-up - and he should take them easy.

The stretch from Monte Carlo through Wimbledon is demanding and there is not much room to rest between the tournaments; I hope he will not try to aim for too much and overextend himself.

Nadal is also in with a decent chance to win here - his draw has been quite friendly.  It will be interesting to see how well he does on clay this year.  I do not expect him to do very well - maybe win one tournament, but probably not RG.  But then, who knows?  Maybe he will sweep clay court season like he used to  - esp. if Djokovic is not ready to stop him.

I hope you are wrong - I much prefer Kyrgios between the two.  Kyrgios is one of my favorite DHBHs among the youngsters.  His game is a little quirky, but I quite like it - he can hit his shots with so little backswing.

Murray can stop Nadal on clay nowadays too. I see the clay season very open this year.

I prefer Kyrgios' game too but again last night we coudl see how tenacious Zverev is.

However if they speed the conds then Zverev's choice of retrieving instead of attacking will cost him a lot in the long run.

Federer: Q. Do you feel it's possible for a man of 35 years
old to be physically stronger, faster, better than a
24 year old? Is it within the realm of possibility?
ROGER FEDERER: I think so, yes. But then, you can't
maybe think that you could play 25 events like a 24. I
think the body just needs a bit more recovery overall.
Just a tad. You know, I think coming out of a brutal
match and then feeling fit like a fiddle in the morning,
it's like when you go clubbing. Same thing. You know,
you don't feel the same when you're older. (Laughter.)

Re: ATP 1000: Miami

Post by Tenez on Fri Mar 31, 2017 7:40 am

and...

Is it the best I've ever played? For me it's hard to say
yes to that question, because the years where, I mean,
I lost four matches or three matches, four matches, five
matches the following year, in those two years I won
like 150 matches and lost like 8 or 9. It's hard to feel
better than in that time.
But I feel like maybe on the offensive side, overall, I
think I'm doing definitely a few things better than I ever
have. That's what I've always tried to explain to
people, that I do feel that I have improved. The game
has evolved and I had to adjust and change, but overall
I do believe I'm probably a better player than I was ten
years ago.

It doesn't always translate into results per se, because
other guys came up and di extremely well, like Novak,
Rafa, Murray, and all those guys.

Is this why Daniel is leaving our "shitty little forum"?
