Not really. I've read a lot more of your posts than you think - and you've been wrong an awful lot. If predicting matches with a great accuracy were possible, there would be no bookies. Pretty sure you wouldn't have put your house on Federer reaching a final in a Slam this year.  Nor would I.

"than years ago" could mean anything.  I agree that Fed's backhand is greater if he means 5 years ago.  I don't if he means Federer 2006.  This is absolutely your problem... you take quotes here and there, usually one quote, proclaim it gospel - and it's not even got any real context to it.

I also don't agree with him that his legs are moving faster.  They aren't.  And has Delpo gone out and measured his speed?  Of course not.

Show me some real evidence. Not "Delpo said". He is no more authority on Federer's actual leg speed than we are. Delpo's opinion is completely subjective.
Why don't you show us that Fed lost a step after 2006 or 7?

I must say Nadal looks a decent tip for this title. A very undemanding route to the final - 1st set against Kholi apart - means he'll arrive without much wear, and with Federer starting to show some signs of how tough it is to win IW / Miami at any age, never mind 35, I doubt he'd lose for a 3rd time this season against him here.

Probably his biggest threat would come from the Kyrgios / Zverev quarter. Both young guys have shown much more fortitude in making it to the quarter.

Going back to that Kholi set is interesting both ways. On the one hand it showed the weakness of the new, advanced, Nadal court position but in the other suggests to me he might drop deeper. Especially against Federer. Miami is much more forgiving in that respect.

A Nadal win really would put him in the #1 frame too.

Yes I would not be surprised to have a new tms1000 winner at the end of the week. Zverev is very gritty.

I think he has little chance from behind vs Federer as he is playing very fast in Miami.

Fognini may have a thing or two say before all that, anyway!

Zverev- Kyrgios...leave me cold.

I am waiting for Pouille and Shapalov to get their act together.

This is how I see it:

Fed beats Berd, Kyrgios beats Zverev, Fed beats Kyrgios. No grinding in those two matches, but he will be exhausted after them and play the final on fumes.

Is there a day of rest anywhere in between?

Wouldn't mind if Fed goes out after Berdych match, atleast he won't be burned out going into the middle part of the season. Miami is the hardcourt version of Madrid.

The mens semis are tomorrow with a gap on Saturday, so the crunch might be playing a young kid the day after Berdych.

I don't think Nadal will reach the final. Depends on whether Fognini selfdestructs.

Well, looks like Nadal is in the final.  Not certain, of course, but highly likely.  Federer is going to have it much tougher.  If he meets Zverev or Kyrgios, I may even have a bet on him losing.  Depends what odds they are offering.

Re: ATP 1000: Miami

I was quite impressed by Zverev v Isner. He did not play well but fought like a lion. In all big points he made sure to put all the pressure on Isner and served big and safe on second serve. His game is just a better version of Murray...or it will be very soon. A no d Murray with a serve and weapons...even if he does play 70pc of his power in rallies. He's got a much better mind than Kyrgios but of course due to a much less gutsy game. So i envisage Zverev to do most of their encounters between those 2. If he gets to the final v Nadal I hope he has learnt his lesson from Australia and will be more aggressive. Interesting 3 days ahead of us.

Yes, Zverev is gutless but that's why he is so much ahead of Rublev.
At least he has a pleasant personality and no attitude like we know who.

Not sure how his game will hold for the next 10 years as he covers a lot of ground and is quite tall.

He hits the ball cleaner than Murray (not to mention the serve!) yet plays percentage tennis.

Coric is a baby or more a wannabe Nole.

Glad we don't have any Nadal pretenders!

The good news for me is all these piddle draws are actually lulling Nadal and his fans into a false sense of security.  The second he has to face a tougher draw, he is knackered.

Quite lucky for Berd. He was not dominant at all. Fed seemed a bit too eager to finish this in 2, got a bit impatient and it cost hom the set.

Really.
That game he had two BPs just now. He ran all over the court...almost like a RR.

I think he hates the thought of losing to Berdych tonight.

I can see why.

Berdych is such a sissy.
