Federer's interview to NY Times.
Still on cloud nine...
It's simply fantastic Federer's won this AO.
It's not just his Norman, it's ours, too!!!!

And what an awesome idea to take the trophy to the top of the mountain!
Swiss Alps are something else...Die Berge as they call it.
I remember when I first saw them, arriving at my chalet late at night, not ralising it was at the foot of the mountain...and when I opened the curtains in the morning, it was an undescribable moment of breathtaking, majestic beauty.
Federer, mountain top, Norman...yes, they go together well...

I totally love that Federer is talking to Norman.
It reminds me of Tom Hanks talking to his Wilson in Castaway.
I have always imagined/visualised winning Wimbledon would be like taking off into a flight from that very mountain top Fed took Norman to.
This win gets better by the day, and it keeps giving!

And there, on top of that mountain, I imagine this conversation took place between Federer and Norman:

I didn't realise they got to actually take these things away with them.
As for topping Melbourne, well an 8th Wimbledon would fit the bill.

he is really on top of the world!!
nice to see him milk every second out of this win that he can,he has obviously learned over the last 4 years not to take winning for granted
