Agree completely.Tenez wrote:Zverev is paying the price for being too defending. I am actually glad he'll lose. I am not a fan of his game. He has the weapons but just doesn't use them. Plays too safe.
Total opposite from Ruboev.
Guess what I found out yesterday!
That Rubi is a year older than he acrually is (they fiddled his papers as a junior, same as Tomic)
Found out from one of our coaches who trained GBs top junior at the time

USO 11 but he did not take a cramp break.NITB wrote:I don't remember ever seeing Nadal cramp, maybe during the AO 2012 trophy ceremony.Daniel wrote:NITB wrote:You can't get a trainer for cramps.Daniel wrote:CALL THE TRAINER. FFS! Is this guy dumb???
Nor could nadal - but he did 100x by just lying. So pretend to fall or cruckle. Do what Nadal does!
All he has to do is fall over slightly - instead of looking like a gormless fool with cramp. Make no mistake about it, Nadal would have.

Don't tell me he's realized he's trans?
Let me guess....
- his Dad isn't his Dad
- his kid isn't his kid
- his wife is his long-lost sister

No, none of those...
I know it's naughty of me to mention it and then not say what it is, but I really can't.
Enough to know it's not tennis or health related.

This is a joke right?Tenez wrote:Zverev is paying the price for being too defending. I am actually glad he'll lose. I am not a fan of his game. He has the weapons but just doesn't use them. Plays too safe.
To me he's in the same category as Del Potro: winning points by playing steady and constructive (not defensive!)
He lacks Delpo's charisma but he the same firepower. There's plenty to improve, but he's only 19.
Nadal was as annoying as ever with his everlasting shitty slices. He only dared to attack when Zverev tired. There was a decent chance Nadal would get tight in the fifth but that 37 shot rally in the fifth game killed Zverev. Both men knew it.

Well, he certainly isn't an instinctive player...the rest is just different shades of the same.gallery play wrote:This is a joke right?Tenez wrote:Zverev is paying the price for being too defending. Surely, with his serve and forepower/timing, he could be a different player.
He grinds, Delpo doesn't.

Re: AO 2017: Day 6
I think a few things need pointing out too.
1. Nadal is getting away with murder. Well over 30 seconds on his serve at time. He was over 20 a ton.
2. Zverev and other players need to start using their brain and doing underarm serves now and then. It's not a tactic you can rely on all the time, but it unnerves someone who is comfortable standing almost as far back as is possible. It will definitely win you a few points too. Yet no-one is doing this.
3. Nadal should not be able to stop the other player serving. I don't care if he is distracted. He has to play to the SERVER.
This game is run by spineless cretins. The same lot Trump has booted out.
Oh and 4.
When you are cramping... do what Nadal and Djok do.... abuse the rules. If Nadal was feeling bad, he'd have a slight "twist" and the trainer would be out. Don't play fair with a fist pumping pillock. Until they sort the rules out and actually apply them evenly, take any advantage. That's what Nadal does.

I certainly wanted him to win but I still think he is way too defending. His FH is not nearly as aggressive as Delpo though Delpo is also a bit of a grinder. I have seen Zver before and he is a retriever.gallery play wrote:This is a joke right?Tenez wrote:Zverev is paying the price for being too defending. I am actually glad he'll lose. Agreed on Nadal and seeing fist pumping when he realised Zver was on his knee made me regret what I said.
But overall I am not a fan of Zverev at all. His game is closer to Murray than Delpo in a way.
You can see how hard he can whack the ball...yet on so many occasions he was looping more than Nadal as the stats showed actually.

I think he'll learn. Being as tall as he is, he'd better be dominant. I've seen patches of impressive attacking tennis, so the potential is there. He just needs to find the right balance.Tenez wrote:I certainly wanted him to win but I still think he is way too defending. It's unacceptable that the best of 5 match should start at midnight.

Dull start to the match between Dimi amd Richie, ex Baby-Feds.
Both glued to the baseline, having a CC BH hitting session....
Come on boys, show us some flair!

Re: AO 2017: Day 6
Neither are attacking enough. We're in the 6th game and both men have run just 200m less than Federer did in his whole match against Berdych.NITB wrote:Dull start to the match between Dimi amd Richie, ex Baby-Feds.
