Nole Switching To Nike?

Post by noleisthebest on Fri Nov 25, 2016 1:37 pm

His contract with Uniqlo is ending soon, and rumours have already started...

One thing's for sure, nice draws and media love guaranteed, he may even get nominated for Stefan Edberg award!

Nole...just do it! Winking

Yes, what else do sore losers do, find a reason somewhere.

But it's not happening, just a fake news on serbian portals to generate some clicks since no good news for Djoko last 6 months.

Nike has a huge influence of course. It can shut up all the antidoping organisations at will like it did for Armstrong.

If Nike can cash in, it will. No problem it doesn't care who dopes and who doesn't. But once their star athlete is on the decline and not as profitable, they drop him/her without a care in the world.

Isn't the new ATP director a former Nike marketing vice president?

Of course Vee Nike plays a huge role in sport. It's their market place.

there is obviously a lot of perks that comes with endorsing nike or being managed by IMG,but i would like to believe that draws and being nominated for awards like the edberg award is not part of it
murray does not endorse nike but wasnt he nominated for the sportsmanship  or fan favourite award too?
the winner is supposedly picked by the players or public for the above 2 awards

Yes Nike and Adidas can do those, but until they are found doing it, its all dreams.

Drop him/her without care, so I should feel sorry for Djoko and Andy that got dropped by Adidas? Not for a second, free money for them, once they decline not just be dropped out, but slapped too, would be ok.

Well....how else can one explain Nadal won it in 2010?

Nike is the sole creator of his career as well as Fedal.

nadal won it cause stupid people like berdych said they voted for him over federer cause federer complained after losing to him at wimbledon
of course there is a possibility that players who endorse or are endorsed by nike are more likely to be nominated for the awards but the winner is still down to the players or fan favourite- the public
if its true that nike could do all this for a players career, including getting good draws why would novak choose uniqlo over nike, and murray who ever he endorses?

Murray got dropped by Adidas due to his permanent choking and then he came with bullshit meia excuse of wanting to be with a developing small brand, blah blah.

Djoko had Sergio Tacchini a small italian now Hong-Kong controlled brand with good history in Tennis, but once Djoko started to win regularly GS, ST did not have money to feed Djoko, so Uniqlo from Japan for no apparent reason took Djoko, never made sense this apart for money for Djoko, Uniqlo got nothing in Asia out of Djoko brand, no one has heard of him in Japan, so Djoko just took who ever offered more money.

interesting info jahu, just wondering why nike didnt grab the opportunity to sign djokovic or muray when the chance arose
even of they were the 2nd,3rd or 4th player
maybe they just arent marketable enough for them and would be a waste of their time and money
i especially love the fact that murray got dropped from addidas
i certainly wouldnt buy or wear addidas if i saw murray endorsing it
in fact,it would pt me off by anything from addidas

Veejay, you are becoming like nitb with questions no one knows  Laugh

Why would Nike taint Fed and Nadal, the top 2 with Djoko? Having the top 3 on Nike, would trigger some Anti-monopoly Competition agency immediately:)

And anyway Djoko changed to Uniqlo after 4th GS i think, when SC could not pay big bucks for every Djoko GS.

And sure after Fed and Nadal, not even Nike can build a market for Djoko, who to market it to? Sell Djoko Nike shirts in Serbia for 89 euro a piece? That's half a salary.

But sure as hell it sold me a Fed one at Basel Open for fucking 99 francs.

SO no Global market for Djoko, while Andy at least has UK population of 60M+ to get his Adidas gear, I never seen anyone on Under Armour or Uniqlo crap, ever.

Aaaaah, so at's why Tenez doesn't like Berdych. Winking

Surely, other players voted for Nadal, too, so it can't have been only Berdych...though he must have been stupid enough to say it.

Why did not Nike and Murray choose Nike earlier?

Probably because Federer and Nadal had contracts Nike weren't able or prepared to pay the other two.

Now that Fedal are not winning slams and young stars are still not even in finals of slams, it's natural Nike want to sign a big name that is actually winning (well used to win till RG Whistle cough cough)

i have seen many other lower ranked players wear nothing but nike on court which to me suggests that they endorse the brand,or the brand sponsors them
and yes berdych was really stupid to say at the WTF that he voted for nadal instead cause he felt that federer was a sore loser when he beat him at wimbledon
he really made himself look stupid, childish and someone who likes to hold a grudge
everyone knows federer was injured,he nearly lost in the first round, had to come back from 2 sets to love go win

So what happened here? No Nike, no shit? Only Seiko renewed the endorsement.

Told you all this was serbian government propaganda to keep Djoko in the news for 4 weeks of no tennis and his wife/coach/spirit crap problems.

Don't be silly Yahoo.
What has Serbian government got to do with Djokovic's 6 months of no title and surrendering number one position to Murray?

Those six monts will go as the most peculiar and mysterious time in tennis history.

As for Nike, it would be interesting to see if he signs for them, just to sit back and laugh at the 180 degree turnaround in Western media coverage of him.

Nitb, Djoko is too old to sign with Nike now, he has another 2 years max,  Nike would rather drop money on younger kids.

He can stay with Uniclock or move to smaller indie label Andy style.

I spoke to Vučko, he told me the gov made up this Nike story  Laugh

Sretan Božić btw smiley
