Corruption - Should It be Accepted?
Sport and corruption just like anything and corruption go hand in hand. Natural greed will always come to the fort. If you can profit from position or situation, most if not all will consider such acts. This week Sam Allardyce paid the price for looking to profit from his position. He says "Entrapment won out" and the FA say the England coach needs to be "Whiter than white" However, had this sting not taken place and Sam had gone to the "powers that be" would the deal still have gone ahead? So for the FA to claim transparency is paramount to their operations, clearly ethics isn't.
Sam should've known better. £3M a year and a long managerial career which hasn't left him short of a few bob, and still feels the need to chase £400K. Bigger fool him. He should know the trappings of previous England managers. Hoddle/Eriksson/Capello all have fallen to an error in judgment.
Football is ridiculously littered with money. With that it is the breeding ground for greed/exploitation/corruption/cheating. Amazing to think the highest earner in football this year isn't a footballer, it's a bloody agent! Mino Raiola has earned more this year in football than Ronaldo!
The Daily Telegraph carried out the sting in this bid of a cleansing exercise. Look at FIFA. Who can forget the BBC's ill timed expose of corruption and then wondered why they didn't win the World Cup for 2018! The press need to get real too. They know what goes on. They can try and portray a heroic act, but least we forget Rob Beasley, what a disgrace he is to the profession of journalism! Releasing a book about Mourinho without his consent!
So it leads me to the issue of Corruption. Is it time we just accept it goes on? Seems no matter how much exposure it is given, it never seems to ever go away.

but i think that the combination of the temptation and believing that they will never get caught or can get away with it is something that clearly gets the better of them
to be fair, its easy to judge him but how many of us are given opportunities to make life changing sums of money?
i think that the temptation could just as easily get the better of any one of us
greed is a unfortunately a part of human nature. its the main reasons why corruption exists where large amounts of money is involved
i view the subject the same way i view doping, cheating or crime...its something that needs to be fought, but no matter how hard you fight it,its something that will never go away
imagine if we stopped fighting crime because one day we just decided to accept that its a war that will never be won?

How much can one fight it when despite best efforts (if you can call it that) never reach the tip of the iceberg? I am like you on that cheating, doping, crime are all offences, however some come out of the shit smelling of roses!

Re: Corruption - Should It be Accepted?
I keep telling you. Lucifer was God's smartest angel and he he is the Prince of this world. Money is his main weapon and until one become wiser and smarter than he one falls for his trap.
In other words, what we should or should not do is irrelevant cause the day he tempts us not many of us can resist it. Easy to talk about how here we would like to fight corruption but had we been seriously tempted like they are, chances are we would have fallen to it.
It's no coincidence that all politicians, 99% of athletes, probably 100% of sport federations are corrupt.

Re: Corruption - Should It be Accepted?
this kind of war shouldnt really be looked at as a war that is either won or lost, cause if you look at it that way, youre definitely going to end up feeling despondent especially if you have high expectations...its a sustained kind of war thats never endinglegendkillar wrote:Veejay wrote:its amazing isnt it?legendkillar wrote:Sport and corruption just like anything and corruption go hand in hand. there will always be culprits who get away with their crimes but even though some may come out smelling like roses in one particular instance, sooner or later their karma will catch up with them, some way or another
