Re: Stan Heard Voices Before USO Final
i think that everyones mind speaks to themselves,especially it comes to doubting yourself
him opening up about it gives you an idea of what goes on in a players mind and how much the pressure or magnitude of the moment can be overwhelming

Hearing voices is not talking to yourself. It's a lot more serious.Veejay wrote:i think that everyones mind speaks to themselves,especially it comes to doubting yourself

Re: Stan Heard Voices Before USO Final
“A lot of people are asking me how I was able to take the court, nonchalantly, when five minutes prior to that I had a stress attack and I was trying to hold back tears,” Wawrinka wrote.
“I tried, (but) I wasn’t able to.”
Wawrinka described his stress as a condition he needed to hide from the worldwide audience.
“I was close to breaking point — the moment where you let it all out, physically and nervously,” he said.
=================================
I wonder if he actually had those "breaking points" in the past.
Many tennis players are now using yoga and meditation, which is opening a door to occult.
Last week, I listened to a 4 hour radio show on youtube in which a guy talked about his experience of "meditation" innocently as a 13 yo boy, wanting to have "superpowers" he saw in films and tv shows...ended up being paralysed in hospital for two months from demon possession at 21... and fortunately got himself out of it.
I wonder if Stan has been part of that, because such stress is unnatural and can't imagine he imposed it upon himself.
I am amazed he was able to play a match in the end and deal with it...I assume he wouldn't exaggerate about it.

Re: Stan Heard Voices Before USO Final
At the time of his victory, Wawrinka was a little less poetic about his state of mind.
“I had to pull my shit together,” he said.
“I was really nervous like never before. I was shaking in the locker. When we start (talking) five minutes before the match … I start to cry.
“In the fourth set I had some pain, but most important was what was clear with (coach) Magnus Norman before, (which) was not to show anything. Give everything and keep fighting and go try to win it.
“Physically I was there. My game was there. Put the fight on the court, and you will have a chance to win,” he told himself.
=====================================
Why would Stan be nervous LIKE NEVER BEFORE?
It's interesting he also mentions he couldn't stand being a robot any more, it was too much for him (the pressure) similar to Djokovic the other day.
Is it because they push their bodies through rings of hell and pain?
Is it the fear of physical pain?
Is it the burnout of having to hit so many gutsy shots iver and over again?
All I can say is there is one Roger Federer.

We all have them. Some have better ears than others. That's all. In fact the more you try to mute them the stronger they will become.noleisthebest wrote:Hearing voices is not talking to yourself. I disagree. The key is to recognise them and don't let them influence and affect you.

Well.....so if you recognise them, you hear them too.

We can't eliminate something that is inherently in all of us.Tenez wrote:Well.....so if you recognise them, you hear them too.
The Lord's prayer says: "Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."
We have a choice and free will to learn to recognise those voices/voice and dismiss them.
Those who don't and can't fall into two groups: the ones who unwittingly are not aware of them and succumb to various fears which then fester...and Stan seems to be that case.
Or those who invoke and invite them for whatever reason, be it through "meditation", dabbling with the occult, hypnosis etc...
The worst are those who actively and consciously seek the devil continually and listen to what he tells them for personal gain.

"voices" here means the normal everyday voices - your thoughts. It does not mean schizophrenia. Misleading title.

That's the only way to interpret it. He makes it clear.
