Who Is Going To Win WTF?
Re: World Tour Final: 2016
I have lost my bet365 stream, but the score suggests you are right.
Murray didn't look tired against Stan today. On the contrary.
What are the odds of Murray getting another w/o from Raonic tomorrow?

Very kind of Nishi to give the crowd a 3 setter....but that cost me a lot of money.
I'll never learn!

I followed your tired Nishi observation and put £10 on Cilic.Tenez wrote:Very kind of Nishi to give the crowd a 3 setter....but that cost me a lot of money.

Funniest of all, I thought Nishi won before I dropped off, because my balance had not been updated at that stage for some reason...(and thought the same/felt baaaad -"I'll never learn!")
.........
Raonic is the new number 3
Hooooow?!!!!!

Well I hope so! I know Nishi is physically gone so unless Djoko has a very day...I am only relying on Rao to save this last tournament of the year.

Re: World Tour Final: 2016
I think it's fair to say it's been the best group phase for several years. The Murray-Kei, Djoko-Raonic, Stan-Cilic and Murray-Stan matches were all good quality matches. I haven't seen Kei-Cilic but looks like that was also a good one.
I suspect the slightly quicker courts have helped plus several players still having ranking positions to play for.
As for the matches today, both look tough to call. Hopefully, we will get a Novak v Andy final. Would be a real boost for the WTF to have a final with the number 1 ranking on the line.

raonic definitely the better player in the first set,but lest see if he can keep that level of play up
it will be very surprising if he manages to beat murray in straight sets

is it just me or does raonic look fitter then murray especially in the long rallies
maybe all the playing he has done to get the ranking is starting to catch up
the amount of errors he is making today is quite uncharacteristic

Re: World Tour Final: 2016
watching murray struggle to hang onto the no1 ranking and end the year as world no1 really puts federers 4 consecutive years as the no1 player into perspective
he was fending off players who play like they have nothing to loose and winning matches like that for 4 years consistently defending all those points
lets see how much of these points murray will be able to defend next year this part of the season

Re: World Tour Final: 2016
I started watching at 4:0, and justreading about some idiot who ran onto the court during the first game.
Apparently it was quite awkward.
That reminded me of a really strange, dead pan comment from Robbie Koenig. He said that Murray may pay a group of fans to hackle Djokovic during the match!!!!!!!
Really?!
Is that what he is prepared to do?
I am speechless.

Re: World Tour Final: 2016
Murray has the crowd and the incentive. I think he'll do it, especially now Raonic blew it. Djok had by far the easier group and SF match.
Still waiting for this mighty, brilliant, multiple Slam winner, Tenez. Gonna admit that Nishikori isn't as good as you thought?

Re: World Tour Final: 2016
The problem is that Raonic played about as well as he can yesterday whereas Murray played one of his worst matches of the year. He still lost. It needs both those factors to be present for Milos to even have a chance.
Novak will crush this shell of Murray this evening. Wouldn't surprise me at all if there is a bagel involved. Still, Murray has limited the damage this week. He's still got a great shot at taking the number 1 ranking back next year.

but i still think that if you look at who came out on top in many of the long rallies and how much pressure roanic put on murrays serve, where as murray ( who is the best/second best returner on tour) hardly made an impression in the ranoic serve
there was some gutsy play from raonic but choked when it really mattered
if you look at how much more confident he was playing in comparison to 6 months ago,you have to believe that that confidence will only grow
murrays experience got him through that match, but one day that wont be enough
i expect novak to win tonight too but im not so sure if we will see a bagel...it would be lovely though

I kind of agree with that. But the fact is Had Murray played better Rao woudl most likely have played even better. The game Murray produces is about bringing his opponent level down by making him doubt on every shot.
Rao shouls have won in 2....in the 3rd he was really tired.
Once Rao gets confidence (by finally turning one of those close match around) it won't be close after that. Raonic will be better than them soon.

Re: World Tour Final: 2016
If Djokovic finds his rhythm he'll thrash Murray. Murray has no whip in his forehand, it's all arm (generating no racquet head speed), so he expends all kinds of energy compensating for this. Which is why he has quite often taken the first set from Nadal or Djokovic only to be dismantled comprehensively.

yes he should but Djoko is so nervous. You can tell he lacks so much confidence.

God sake, Andy plays like a plank of wood standing upright, so damn static, no fluidity.
But if he beats Djoko, I'll ignore it for tonight.
