Day 11 - Shall we have a rest?
Let's get a break from the game today. I will put the feature match for Day 12 later today...but like Federer we need a good massage before the next challenge.

Q. For people who are just getting familiar with your game, how would you describe your style of play?
LUCAS POUILLE: I think, yeah, I'm playing aggressive, trying to approach the net as much as possible, trying to dominate the point, to be on the baseline, and not to be so far away and run every time.
Yeah, I think aggressive player.
=====================
That's what we liked when we first saw him. Control aggression with a will to go to the net. A complete player who will need to work very hard to make up for his irregualr mindset.

Federer after his match v Johnson:
Q. What are you doing to relax in between games? A lot of players have been off to the West End to see musicals, Wicked and Matilda, even Beyonce. What have you been up to in your spare time?
ROGER FEDERER: Not that much, to be quite honest. I've been tired. I've been resting, watching some football, playing with my kids in the yard, doing treatment, watching tennis. I think it's important right now to be in that mindset.
=============================
So if he is tired after a 3 setter v Johnson and needing treatment.....imagine after Cilic, Rao ...nd during Murray? !

He's clearly not as bad as it seems or he wouldn't have beaten Cilic from 2 sets down. He's good enough.

Re: Day 11 - Shall we have a rest?
i reckon his back may be playing up again,he was really struggling with his serve yesterday and wasnt moving well,he looked more then a step slower then he usually is
he also seemed quite content to lose yesterday,or at least thats how i was reading his reaction and body language

McEnroe just said that at 35 Fed is not going to bounce back as easily as in the past ....and for once, Mc is right!

I don't think you are reading Fed's body language well, Vee...
This is a man who once said:
Federer: "Maybe I'll Try Later. God, It's Killing Me"
Probably my favourite tennis quote of all time.
The man is simply phenomenal. Fighter. That's what it is all about.

Re: Day 11 - Shall we have a rest?
lol re that quote
i dont think im reading his body language incorrectly
thats the way he plays when his back is giving him problems but roger wont ever use that as an excuse
i recall several of murrays earlier wns over roger came at a time whne he was struggling with his back and then when it wasnt ,he blew murray right off the court,it was embarrassing actually lol

There is no doubt that Fed was not playing his best in the first 3 sets. he simply looked slow. But Cilic greatly contributed to make him look slow too as the ball was simply flying. Murray/Tsonga pace was clearly a notch slower.

Re: Day 11 - Shall we have a rest?
i also thought that the murray tsonga match was played at a slower pace, with much more variety
cilic is pretty 1 dimensional, but its the kind of dimesion that roger really struggles with in the twilight of his career
i dont ever watch doubles, but i gotta say the doubles player are really crap!! some of them really overweight !! lol

How does anyone watch that drivel? Serena as a grandma still winning that easily. The women's game is crap.

Just watched murray tsonga highlights. Murray;s court coverage is frightening and Tsonga at times was brilliant. Just a shame that the shot maker once again lost.

Which is why Murray is gonna fall away faster than Nadal when the time comes. Once he loses a step. He's wrecking his body - and age will see him off quick style.
Tsonga didn't play at his best though. A lot of errors that he needed to cut out. And more importantly, he is missing a devastating serve. If only he had that.

Indeed the fittest will once again win the slam! It's depressing!

Tsonga was serving huge at times FK. Regularly around the 135mph mark.

Re: Day 11 - Shall we have a rest?
If Tsonga hadn't been taken to 19-17 in a 5th set earlier, he'd have beaten Murray.
Murrays confidence won't be so great now. Raonic has a real chance to win this. In fact, I rule only Berdych out.

I am talking about consistent 1st serves in. He is no Cilic or Raonic. If he had a more consistent serve then he'd be deadly. It's simply nowhere close to Federer's or any of the top servers.
It isn't a devastating serve just because he can serve fast at times. If you look at 2 years ago, it was largely Djokovic's serve that made him win compared to Fed's that fell apart at crucial times and sometimes for entire games.
