Re: Wimbledon Day 6 - Predictions
Federer on playing Willis:
"....I believe he can make big strides. But then again, don't forget the challengers are brutal, so are the futures. When he gets stuck between 200 and 500, 600, 700, it's a big step getting out of that."
That is so true....as Rublev is experiencing now!

T
Question of the day:
Can Nole dig himself out?
He is playing first at 12. Will the grass still be slightly damp?
Anyway....we'll see.
If anyone can come back - it's Nole!

Question of the day:
Can Nole dig himself out?
T - Of course! As I said the real match starts now.
He is playing first at 12. Will the grass still be slightly damp?
T - Mine isn't! so it's unlikely court 1 is as they protected it much more than mine.
Anyway....we'll see.
If anyone can come back - it's Nole!
T - That is actually his strength...isn't it? this tenacity and fitness together. It usually goes hand in hand.

Re: Wimbledon Day 6 - Predictions
Federer again mentioned that the courts play so differently the first week than after.
So unlucky for Fed who probably would have held 10 Wimbies if grass coudl be same in the second week.

Rotla, it's awful this year. It's been getting worse over the last decade.

It's how it is in Britain these days and Greater Manchester, where I am, is even WORSE (and has been 100 years). The weather here is frustrating and annoying - and that was the worst June I can remember. And it's carried on into July.
All it has done is rain. You haven't a chance of planning a weekend away somewhere or anything.
And why are these morons taking the roof off centre every 2 minutes? LEAVE IT ON.

Jahu, your perfect and my perfect are very different!
You need the quantum gene to pull it off.
It was gramatically correct, I'll give you that...

Thanks, but also it described nicely where Djoko went today.
There is still AO next year, so some more GS for Djoko

Re: Wimbledon Day 6 - Predictions
You do have a way of being accurate but only in hindsight.
Djoko is more than a tennis player for Serbia.
RG was monumental in that way.
A corner stone.
The rest really doesn't matter.
Though with quantum paths, one never knows...

Commiseration NITB on Djoko losing.....but it felt so good !...sorry!
Like Nadal he has won much more than his due!. Though guy are not in Borg, McEnroe and Sampras league....yet they are close or even over taken them slam wise. The truth is they should not have.

Re: Wimbledon Day 6 - Predictions
Looking at the draw as it stands... Murray looks to be the winner. And I loathe him. But it's far from certain. I'd give him a VERY slim margin and if Federer reaches final I think Murray will lose.
Kyrgios (if he wins) has a good chance of beating Murray but his mental edge is suspect. Del Potro isn't at his best. Zverev still a little inexperienced to do it?
On Fed's side... it is fully loaded. A lot of good players. Federer's challenge starts now. He has Johnson who could kick him out, Nishikori/Cilic who could kick him out, Raonic/Goffin who could kick him out.
Honestly, I can't see Fed in his current form doing it. But he does have a chance.

One thing is for sure: EVERY man left in the draw (bar maybe Mahut and Pouille) will believe they can win. Yes, even Sam Querrey!
And that's the best bit about the week ahead.
We are guaranteed some fantastic battles.
Anyone but Murray!

He was asked about it this time - at least. But he should have refused the question entirely. Nadal was the worst at it - he used to say it without any question.
