Re: Toronto Masters 1000
Dimi has finally started to play some nice attackng tennis and looks quite elegant at it, too.
But!!!
He really needs to work on his serve and return pronto.
Esp his BH returning which even on Nishi's serve produced short blocks only.
And Nish was returning Dim's serve with ease as they were predictable and comparatively slow.
I like Dimi's shots, he doesn't spin them too much.
Good to see him back on track.

Re: Toronto Masters 1000
Nole-Nishi should be a good match tonght.
Both are excellent aggressive baseliners and the ball is flying in Toronto esp during day, when the final will be played (4 pm local time).
Nole going for his 1000 30th Masters title.
Impressive!

He's got a great game. I would not be surprised if he wins a slam or 2 late in his career.noleisthebest wrote:Dimi has finally started to play some nice attackng tennis and looks quite elegant at it, too.

I fancy Nishi's again. If I could bet I would but here in France Betfair doesn't work.noleisthebest wrote:Nole-Nishi should be a good match tonght.

He does!
But he also needs to improve his serve and esp. his returning, it would make his life much easier!
Maybe needs to stick around Fed during training as he is the only player who will carry his game to future.
When I watched him just for a few games the other day, he really reminded me of Fed for the first time.

Re: Toronto Masters 1000
Nole making Nishi look like a ball machine.
Nole has so much more variety, also ball control better than ever.
He is a good example of what 10years of ball striking with a more or less same racquet does to timing.

I am curious as to why you keep thinking Nishi will beat Nole, Tenez?

Re: Toronto Masters 1000
Nishikori is a runner up man. He'll never be a contender. He's another Ferrer. He hasn't got the bottle, the stamina, or the serve. In other words, he's useless. As for "a slam or two" - nothing he's done suggests he will do it.

He was not far last time they played in Rome. Anyway did not see the match yesterday. But looks like Nole played his best and again Nishi's did not.luvsports! wrote:I am curious as to why you keep thinking Nishi will beat Nole, Tenez?
