Would love to see him vs. Djokovic next. Hopefully they get drawn together in Madrid.

Nadal is rejuvenated, will probably win Barcelona right after he ground out MC. Gotta wonder what he's on now, his team seems to have found a great solution to work around the BP.

And next thing you know, Becker chimes in and defends Nadal against the doping allegations that followed the Spaniard throughout his career. Big Grin That guy doesn't know when he'd better shut up.

To me Nadal's BH has really improved. The length of his FH is really good in the first few games then shortens as the game extends.

I still think Nishi can bother him more than Fognini.....so I am not convinced he will win Barca.

double double faults by paire to gift the set to Nishi. Nishi anyway would have taken it, but Paire showed lack of fight there. Too frustrated by I don't know what.

Nishi vs Nadal could be good final..

Nishi destroyed Rafa in Montreal last year and i thought that he would be one of the guys who could do that regularly.

You sure?  I think Nishi has a chance.  Yes, if you gave me 50/50 odds, I would go with Rafa, but I do not think it is a done deal by any means.  I have not seen much tennis this week, but from what I saw I thought Nishi looked pretty good.  Rafa certainly looks better than at any time since early 2015, but I think he is still some way away from where he used to be in the old days.

It reminds the time when people said Djoko cannot beat Nadal on clay...then when he beat him he beat fairly convincingly and then they said he can't beat him in best of 5 sets....and then he did....and after that came the he can't beat Nadal in best of 5 on clay......and guess what? he did that too.

Nishi is a very nervous player....he can beat anyone but it's not the player that makes him nervous.....it's the occasion.

If he plays his game, Nadal has no chance. .....Nadal's chance however is that Nishi is unlikely to play his game.

I think he is still not playing his best, even on clay.. Nishi is being himself.. losing the point after having the upper hand in rally.

You have to compare with what kind of ball nadal is dealing with. There was no one in the past able to hit as hard from both sides. Watch any of the clay match v Nadal before and a lot of his shots struggled to pass the service line. Now the length on return and on all his shots is much better...and his BH is much more solid.

LOL! Top drawer analysis as always. Tenez, you never disappoint.  Doh

Nishikori is horrible in the big moments vs the Big Four players. Nishikori probably peaked at the USO 2014 when he beat Djokovic. He doesn't compare to the Big Four players and Djokovic, Nadal, etc. have proven that over and over again recently.

Nishikori is overhyped.  He doesn't have the serve or the bottle. And he's never going to win a slam. Nadal is there for the taking, but none of these guys can deliver. The only people doing anything are Olderer and Djokovic.
