Bad news is: Pouille is in Murray's quarter. For the third week in a row.
Good news: he has a bye in round one and will be fresh in his next match in front of his home crowd.

Yes, he has 3 players in his quarter alone capable of beating him atm.

The season has been a disaster, only RG  was good and memorable.

In hindsight, Nole was impressive to pull it off under the circumstances and pressure.

It's strange to see:

Deflated Nadal
Retired Federer
Lifeless Nole

all in the space of 3 months.

Only Murray seems to be galloping.

Finished my work for the day, worked out how I can watch tennis on bet365 on a large screen...sunshine pouring through the windows...Pouille playing, I'm in heaven!Big Grin

Third set, Pouille missed two BPs, lots of skill from both, but Lopez looking like a retriever.
Pouille serving great!

Lopez flashed a really beautiful BH just now...you simply cannot beat the elegance of a SBH, it's breathtaking! Magic
and at the same time, when timed and struck well, however delicate a shot it inherently is - it can be a deadly weapon.

Thiem plays small tournaments and makes his points there, that's why he's "running out of steam" i.e. game when it matters.

Pouille who had two slam QFs is ranked behind him.

He'd be a much more interesting and exciting player in O2 than Thiem.

Hopefully, next year..

Not really closer than the score indicates. I saw a set or 2 and frankly Thiem had no solution or belief.

Yep/.....that was close.

Typicaly Nandos....close but no cigar.

What is terrible about Murray is that once again, aspiring to number one with an ugly retrieving game.

Another possible number 1 with shots worse than a number 43....sure more consistent but shot wise? plain ugly.!

Masters 1000: Paris Op

Hard to pick just the one, but will have to go with Pouille-Murray!

followed closely by Nole-Dimi Winking

Nishi-Tsonga will be super tennis, both playing well, then Cilic-Goffin fighting for WTF spot, and finally the one and only Gillou back to his old tough irresistible best! Big Grin

Murray managed to get under Pouille's skin.

They are complete opposites in every possible way.

There is nothing ugly and dark in Pouille's game and demeanor.

I din't know why his BH was weak today.
But I know, he has beautiful future.

First class, rich talent.

Evans was ranked around 200 at the start of the year (and about 700 as recently as June 15). Poor display in the DC final or not, being up to 50 in the world is still impressive. He's had a poor end to the year though, so needs to re-focus in January.

He won't win that award in any event. Pouille would be my pick but I suspect it will be Zverev.

Incidentally, I beat the bookie again.  Popped 50 0n Dimi @ 6-1 and cashed out 116 near end of set 1. I knew Djok would come back.

I am gutted as I put £20 on Cilic to win a 4.5.....to cash in at 5/4 when Djoko broke in that second set...so I made a mere £4!!! instead of £70.

That's not very relevant. Cause without the WTF points Djoko is 400pts ahead. SO it is going to be down to who performs best at the WTF and whether Murray can ear a max of points before WTF.

Agree, but this method does not work in Balkans, once rich, you don't give a F for anything or anyone.

Need to understand some mentality background, to understand DJoko.

I'm thinking about Fed.  Murray stops Djokovic in his tracks with the WN1 total weeks, which he did have a chance of beating.  Not a great chance, but a decent one. I think Murray has snuffed it out.
