Australian Open 2015 Day 12
Murray 50- Raonic 80
(since all other matches have been finished for today)
Double joker, one for correct winner the other for number of sets & winner.

Re: Australian Open 2015 Day 12
I have a solution!!!
Instead of banning dbh, there should be two halves of the draw - one with only SBH-ers and the other with only DBH-ers.
They would only meet in the final!
That way, we'd be guaranteed decent matches throughout the entire tournament.
It's not a perfect solution, but...
What do you all think?

This one won't count as the others won't be able to jooin on time. But
I'll say Murray in 3 despite losing his service game.
I'd like rao to win as I know Murrray will have less of a chance to beat Djoko in teh final. At leats Rao coudl have a great service day.....

Rqonic's fh technique is quite interesting, his swinging arm stays and finishes quite close to the body, yet he gets loads of pace and hits cleanly.

Re: Australian Open 2015 Day 12
Watching Murray grind now shows how his tennis is actually very far behind Nole's.
He is just one spot behind him in the ranking but miles behind on the court.
He's got nothing to challenge him with.
It will have to be someone new...there are a few immediate potential candidates but they all need at least a year if not two to complete their game.

I read how Murray doesn't like to watch his on-court antics and outbursts post-match...and you can see he is making an effort to curb them today.
But...at the same time it's not him, is it?
I reckon it's a matter of time befire he loses his cool...if he wants to win this match, that is...

Rao's FHs and Bhs have turned conservative. That's bad....he needs to go full throttle Like kevin Ansderson at the USO....otherwise he is cooked.

I don;t think so...they just need confidence. A Nishi on a good day will take Djoko out easily. Djoko looks better than he is. You will see.

Yes, but he isn't that type of player...that's what I've been saying all these years - he is very tight inside.Tenez wrote:Rao's FHs and Bhs have turned conservative. That's bad....he needs to go full throttle Like kevin Ansderson at the USO....otherwise he is cooked.
I din't know whether that's frim pressure (which is curable) or just his make-up.
I think it's the former.
He needs to get rid of everyine around him and be his own man. No mum no dad, no hopes of Canada on hs shoulders... But is he that strong?

Their main problem is not Djoko's shots but the fact they are playing the number 1.

I watched him closely yesterday, he's added lots of shots and maturing, as well...plus he is a very intelligent player.Tenez wrote:noleisthebest wrote:

In current conditions that seems to be enough.
Players like Anderson or Kokkinakis, basically stronger versions of Simon could hurt him now...if they believed.

It's his legs and stamina. Otherwise, there is not much difference between him Simon or even a young Chung. So someone with weapons from both wings (like Nishi) can take him out any day.
I have not watched yetserday match but I suspect federer made him look better than he is.

He did and that was a shock to me...I've never seen Fed cave in like that before.
He was actually lucky Nole had a physicall dip/relaxed a bit in the third set.
I think what got to Fed was Nole's determination to trounce him. Still, Imdidn't expect him to retrive into his shll.
It was really weird.

Can Murray be considered a great returner standing so far bind the baseline on returns?

he is usually not. And even though he stands back a lot, by the time he hits the ball he is much closer.

It's funny to see Murray excited after putting away that pretty standard CC drive volley out of the air...shouting "I'm fird uuup!!!" to his box..imagine how he'd feel if he could rip a SBHDTL all the time like Fed or Stan do...
Just shows how really hard and unnatural it is for him to attack.

rao should not panick cause murray does tire. And if he loses half a step, the court will look much bigger for rao!

It's all in his head and in a way on his racquet. Thinly, but there.
If he can beat himself he'll win the match and finally break through in his own brain.
Will be interesting to see...

Raonic needs to be serving ahead, he doesn't do too well when he is serving to stay in touch..

he lost 2 points on his serve in that 3rd set....
Problem is when he has to serve it out....or stay in the set.....when pressure is highest...he is not so good.

It's a miracle Nole has been able to curb his emotions. We all think it's because he trained in Germany from the age of 12, so had to leave his parents.
Same goes for Sharapova.
