I love Stan in his Stanimal mode!
Quite impressive to outhit Ferrer on this court.
Stan's definitely joined the big 4.
Only big 4 can beat Ferrer, the gatekeeper.

It's called 'definition' or ripped. A guy like Ronaldo is also ripped but still has 10% body fat. I guess Djoko's percentage is even lower. It's amazing he still has time to go out on practice court because it's a full time job to maintain such a fat percentage. The natural way that is..Tenez wrote:I actually did not mention it with drug in mind but he certainly looked very lean, his legs muscles, joints and bones were really sharp (not sure how to describe it but simply with 0 fat to round it off).noleisthebest wrote:Ok, didn't know thinness is a symptom of doping. Stan did ok to get back in the match, but it was more a old familiar choke job from Ferrer. DF on setpoint..and it was not the only in the last part of set 1noleisthebest wrote:I love Stan in his Stanimal mode!

yes good point!
If Stan beat Murray then there is still a chance for federer to finish the year 2nd. ..but he will have to win the title I believe....and not sure DC can still tilt the balance.

Stan is so slow. Those dropshots are very reachable.

Does it matter? He would be better off to meet Djoko in the AO semi than the final anywayTenez wrote:noleisthebest wrote:I love Stan in his Stanimal mode!

yes, ripped that's the word I was looking for. I remember Nadal in that AO12? he also was so ripped. He did have a deep gap between the his eyelid and eyebrow.

Tenez wrote:Could that have anything to do with Nole?luvsports! wrote:Ok so I see him as less physical this year as he couldnt outpower and physically dominate nole like he has in the past.
Nadal coudl not do much v Nole in 2011 either....and though he did better in 2013 and 14 I think that had a lot to do with Djoko not being as convincing those 2 years as 2015.....so it's all relative here.
From the naked eye, I'd say Nadal this year certainly looked physically weaker at times....but it's not as clear cut as he certainly lacked confiddence too. And one thing which can be proven is that he is doing his best to stand closer, hence reducing the need for big muscles...hence last longer.....
I don;t think any of us can have a real clue of what's going on.
had nadal lost to PHM at FO06 or to Querrey, Youzhny, Haase in his early Wimby we woudl have come with completely different conclusions.
One thing is clear, he is changing his game and is more aggressive now thna ever.
It could for sure, but i believe the drop off has been huge from Rafa.

Stan's on fire!
Everything is going in!
His rawness is such a contrast to Fed's smoothness, but still great to watch.

I think "ripped" is for fake, pumped muscle like Nadal's biceps.
I use "definition" for leg muscles as it's hard to get legs "ripped" , unless you are Tipsarevic...
I just don't know how Berdych was able to slap on so much muscle on his quads, though.
Like he was pulling a tractor up a mountain before breakfast as a warm-up.

Ripped are also the body builders competitors.....Schwarzy type. As they are judged not only on mucles volume but how "defined" or ripped their muscles are.
Anyhow, Djoko standing to receive serve could win one of those body building competition.

Yuk...I don't know where to look....
Ripped is horrible.
Defined is nice.

So...does this mean that Federer and Nadal have topped their groups more or less?
Who would Fed rather play: Nadal or Stan?

Probably Stan on current form. But either shoudl be fun.
I think Djoko will want to play Nadal to make up for his bad H2H...

Murray didn't play well, but I thought Rafa played a great match actually. Took control of the rallies, and defended well. However Djokovic is miles above Murray atm.

But it's the same story...easy to look good when the opponent is not 100%...same thing with Fed yesterday in that 2nd set.

Re: ATP Tour Final - The Draw
Well there's been many times this year where Nadal's opponent is playing badly, but he's still failed to take full advantage and then become involved in a low quality scrap. Murray did play well enough to beat Ferrer 6-4 6-4; but Nadal was a step far. Federer played great yesterday, and that should give him confidence for future meetings even when Djokovic is not below par.Tenez wrote:DONALD TRUMP wrote:Murray didn't play well, but I thought Rafa played a great match actually. I think Nadal may have more trouble v Ferrer than Murray or Stan.
I'd like to see v Djoko....he is the real benchmark nowadays.

Re: ATP Tour Final - The Draw
Nadal has declined, he won't be able to match Djokovic unless Nole plays like he did in the second set against Federer. If Djokovic plays like he has so far this autumn, he will beat anyone in the world.
I don't think Nadal will have much trouble against Ferrer, it's a bit of a dead rubber so it depends on the intensity both players play at. Nadal is definitely first in the group, so hopefully he won't bother spending too much energy.

I suppose, but only just. Mirka can always step in if necessary
In fact, it will be Nadal who chooses who to play in the SF with since their group plays last - on Friday.
Which is good, because Fed will have a day of rest.

Stan moved to second spot from Group-B. Now he needs to beat the moping Murray to secure the semis spot. Nadal is almost certain to finish top in his group.

I've already watched Nadal once this week, and I do really like watching Federer live too (btw for those FEDAL fans who haven't... it's really worth it); but would prefer to see Rafa again.

Especially since Nadal and Djoko have now reached the age where a yesterday match is felt on the legs.

If Nadal tries to take the ball earlier and dictate I will have an open mind about it.
Besides, I think I'd prefer Nadal to win his first Masters than seeing Djoko winning his 5th.
