Re: ATP Masters 1000: Paris
Very interesting game that is. Nadal is not giving ground like in the past. he is stiking to the BL....more UEs....but still very solid.
To me he looks at least back to his best.....doesn't mean he will win though.

Nadal is hitting the ball as hard as ever. His serve has a poor placement but the spin is there to trouble the returner.

the time Nadal takes after a 1st serve net is absurd!

Nadal hitting so hard that he burst the ball on the serve.

I still fancy Stan to win that one. Was very unlucky to be broken in that first game..and nadal will start to tire a bit.

I just started watching.
Stan is playing really well, Nadal very tough to put away, though.
Incredibly physical now that he is closer to the baseline.

pathetic by wawrinka. He's making so many errors when he has the set in the bag.
Also, Black Magic doesn't exist because magic doesn't exist.

No way. He choses his own referees as we know.noleisthebest wrote:Did he get any warnings?Tenez wrote:the time Nadal takes after a 1st serve net is absurd!
Having said that he is certainly quicker than in the past.....that's maybe why he loses at the end of sets nowadays.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Paris
I watched a bit of Troicki-Stan yesterday, it was on the side court, and the camera was covering play from a much lower and closer angle than on centre court, showing true speed and trajectory of the ball.
Stan's timing was really amazing on his BH and some of his serves.
Made Troicki's BH which is not bad at all look like a pussycat.

I didn't see everything but thought Berd played a very good match and didn't choke.AceofDeath wrote:Berdych is still a really big choker. Had Novak on the ropes and was on a higher level than him until he throws it away.
Will Stan keep his Paris winning streak alive?!
The points he lost in the second TB were not choked away.
Probably his best match against Nole I've seen.
In the end, he was just a step too late on two crucial FHs and that was enough.
Nole defended like a beast!

Re: ATP Masters 1000: Paris
Absolutely pathetic. Stan bottled it away. Never seen anything like these top players. All Nadal did in that set was hope for the best and keep the ball in play. Wawrinka went for way too much and made tons of simple errors. Two easy put aways. Go away.

Let's not blame net cords for that last game. It was a bottle job by Stan. My sister could have put 2 of those shots away.

That was one tired Bh from Stan, followed by a mistimed FH...
As if the adrenaline helping his flow has gone cold after failing to serve the set out.
Is Bercy full of foreigners?

Wow!!!!
What an awesome TB from Stan.
That point at the net turned it all around.
He got one net cord that mattered!

I don;t think Stan choked that set at 5/4 serving for the match. he got just too excited. he was at the net to put the ball away....just got the net...it's not like he was scared to hit through and stayed back like nadal did in that set point he had.

Don't get that
Nadal did everything to get himself in a winning position and then his nerves get to him.
Stan was so bad after 5-4 in that set I have no idea how he won it.. I want to kiss him for saving the sport though

Yes it's pay back time. Some people get nervous early in their career and takes long time to build confidence...other never had any fear until they realise they can actually lose and then confidence drops.
Safin, pete or becker said for instance that winning their first slam was easy as they did not know what losing really meant......it became much harder afterwards.

Stan will be knackered. It's 1.40 am there...interview, adrenaline, tiredness...he is not going to sleep before 5am...! Poor scheduling!
