Tenez wrote:Yes great play from Cilic. He has to play gutsy and execute under heavy pressure. I actually like Cilic a lot.
That is right, but Cilic does not have fitness and can not keep the long rallies. The longer they play the more Cilic is going in his shell.

Plus Cilic is a great natural forward mover. I'm really glad he's back to his old form.
You can now see how fragile Murray is. He allows himself to dip in level when things don't go his way and it shows best in really poor shot-selection

his level is as high as always, the only difference is that Cilic is more mature than Raonic and has a far better backhand.
I don't think Murray's level or physical fitness has been 'special' this week, imo it's just normal Murray.
I think Cillic will start making errors now though, Murray in 4.

Cillic has to hold here if he wants to win this match.
The longer it goes on the more it suits Murray.

That is right, Murray is so cautious not to make errors, that he forgets to play tennis. He needs to feel 20 thousand applauding fans standing behind him, but unfortunately it is USO

His fitness has been special except that Cilic is not allowing him to show it off by painting the lines and playing his game by playing aggressively and moving forward.

Delpo serving for the match, he shows composure, looks comfortable. Andy already has good-bye in his head, finito.

Goodbye Roddick, you've had a great career and a chance to play the beautiful game. All the best for the rest of the road, because the road is long

Cilic has been playing very well.....but again I doubt it will last. We saw some good long rallies in Murray's service game and that has announced the end of Cilic I fear.

His forehand has improved this year, but generally his performance so far has been like his 2009 USO against Cillic.noleisthebest wrote:Amritia, pay attention how hard Murray is hitting his forehand now.

Murray looks pretty nervous, I still hope that he will turn it around. Cilic plays a perfect match. Andy needs to start serving in the third, so come on Andy!

Re: US open 2012: Matches of the Day: Day 10
The problem Murray has is that he relies way too much on his physique and sooner or later his big leg muscles give in. His legs were never built to move such a big frame as fast and he often ends up having cramps and muscle tear towards the end of slams.

Murray is back in this set. He should definitely go more often to the net. Cilic under pressure watch him too much, that his weakness.
I am surprised how well Cilic hits the ball.

Cilic is a shite player anyway and was getting very lucky with painting the lines and getting everything going his way. Once the momentum shifted, he has started to look like what he is.
Come on now, get in Andy. You have to win this one. Come on!

Cilic was facing no pressure before, as soon as Murray started to attack his second serve, the pressure increased and Cilic succumbed but on the contrary Murray should had never let Cilic reach that position.

Thank you Andy for schooling Cilic on how to play tennis. Cilic is a total shite player shown his place by the master player.
Good to see Andy displaying array of shots and attacking display. Come on Andy! Let go Andy, let go!
Show him his place.

This set shows Murray's margins. Cilic has no choice but to paint the lines, something which clearly is tougher to do when tired and under pressure.
I am surprised Cilic lost that set...but not surprised he'd lose the match.

No one can paint the lines forever, Cilic was getting really lucky with that. In all honesty Cilic was lucky to win his last match. Kilzan had him allover the place and Cilic just managed to win by the virtue of court coverage. He is such a monotonous bashliner and does not deserve to win the last match and definitely not today, specially when he has no chance of winning his next match.

This TB was decisive for the match, I think that Cilic will not get this set and TB from his head. He was very close.

that's Cilic's standard A game. I'm disappointed he choked at 5:1.
Federer and Djokovic won't be that generous.

Amrit, it's not choke. He should never been there at the first place, he was really lucky to be in that position but thankfully the normal order has been restored. Andy looking good for first slam win.
