Stan is hitting the ball so hard, he isn't just trying to hit winners, he's trying to crack the court open.

Well when I said that he was playing a bit better than he is now, but yes I'd still agree, he seems to be hitting the ball very hard but not caring about precision.Tenez wrote:Is this sarcastic? cause i actually don't think so.DONALD TRUMP wrote:Stan is hitting the ball so hard, he isn't just trying to hit winners, he's trying to crack the court open.

Nadal is playing well...but allowed to more than it should have been by Stan certainly looking tired.

Fleming in the last game of that set 'Nadal has lost his rhythm here with Stan playing like he is'... clearly stunning tactics by Stan to break the Spaniard's rhythm; shame it didn't work right at the end there :/

Re: ATP Masters 1000: SHANGHAI
what is actually quite obvious now is that if nadal shed some weight/muscles, it is to last longer , to be able to cope with the 25s rule and that can only be done by taking the ball earlier. The strategy is pretty clear...and it seems to be working. Whether it will work at the higher level under the higher pressure it is to be seen.

I only saw the match from 2:0 in the 2nd set, with no commentary.
What happened?
Stan looked like he had a bad back.

He hasn't lost muscle, I know this unfortunately because some of the Nadal fan pages I follow love making a big point of it with weekly updates of how Nadal's topless figure and biceps are looking.Tenez wrote:what is actually quite obvious now is that if nadal shed some weight/muscles, it is to last longer , to be able to cope with the 25s rule and that can only be done by taking the ball earlier. I paid extra attention when he stood next to Nole in their match in Beijing - his torso is still thicker as are his legs, particularly thighs, they are considerably bigger than Nole's.

Stan played like a TOTAL LOSER, grossly incompetent and far too weak; basically the opposite of how I'm going to be as President of 'Murica.noleisthebest wrote:I only saw the match from 2:0 in the 2nd set, with no commentary.

Since I've become Nadal's off court-coach (I still leave the on court coaching to Toni), Nadal's record is just GREAT:

Nadal played this match like he had to win to save his mothers life compared to Stan who looked like he'd rather be taking the dog for a walk.

Re: ATP Masters 1000: SHANGHAI
Only saw a handful of points from the 1st set&TB and the end of 2nd set of Nole-Tomic.
As expected, it was close while Tomic was playing well.
He made Nole run a lot, and could have won the set easily, just became too passive and played like Murray minus the speed.
He never made the most of the easy power in his FH, foolishly engaging in sliced BH cat and mouse exchanges.
His mind is lazy and passive, again the same conclusion: waste of talent.
Plus, he doesn't have stomach for the battle.

TennisTV showing win-loss ratio for top ten in 2015, Nole already played 72 matches (entering the fewest tournaments). That's a lot!

I expect Murray to win, so the SF will be good tomorrow. In the masochistic way, of course.

TennisTV just showed avg groundstroke speed: Murray 110 kph, Berdych 122 kph.
I'd love to see the same stat from 2011.

And Stan's soul unfortunately was crushed by Nadal's tactical play which I engineered.

Sorry I was doing my tax returns so I couldn't watch the Murray-Berdych match; but I gave a quick phonecall and donation to the Shanghai TD and the schedule for the semis looks good tomorrow.

Nadal is heading for another beatdown with Murray or Djok. That's if he gets through Tsonga.

It's very difficult to see on tv.....and even in flesh. Not many can actually point those differences even in flesh. I don;t know but that is the rumour that was circulating. Regardless he is taking the ball earlier and that means he won't need to hit the ball as hard as in the past.DONALD TRUMP wrote:He hasn't lost muscle, I know this unfortunately because some of the Nadal fan pages I follow love making a big point of it with weekly updates of how Nadal's topless figure and biceps are looking.Tenez wrote:what is actually quite obvious now is that if nadal shed some weight/muscles, it is to last longer , to be able to cope with the 25s rule and that can only be done by taking the ball earlier. Djokovic won his last match against Murray in Shanghai, in the 2012 final.
"It'll be an extremely tough match," the Briton said of Saturday's encounter.
"We played great tennis in the 2012 final, but I feel like we are quite different players since then. I feel both of us have progressed and play different tennis. We are now quite aggressive."

Nah!!!! We have a few posters here who know better Andy! You decline, I decline, they decline. It's a bloody declining world. Even daylight declines nowadays!

Re: ATP Masters 1000: SHANGHAI
yep. I did actually. ....when I suspected Nadal's taking time was due to recovery and not OCD. I remembered Nadal losing that 5 setter in Miami 05 and thought this match will show whether Nadal was taking time there or not.....and obviously he did not. Then the following matches had to show he was taking extra time....and guess what? they did. That proved that Toni deliberately took the decision to slow down the routine between point after Nadal lost 6 games in a row in that 5th set in Miami 05.noleisthebest wrote:Tenez wrote:
